The first question from Oliver is a super easy answer. Its more likely JJ gets the 5th year option because the Vikings avoid drafting QBs for years and years at a time. Doesnt mean the 5th year option is any more or less likely than JJ not making it that far, just the team likely wont draft another guy in 3 years, instead they would throw another few hundred million at some veteran who isnt good enough.

Vikings have been drafting plenty of QBs lately. Just nobody who turned out good yet. I'm pretty sure McCarthy will turn out well.

@@TristanandIsolt Drafting a guy in the 5th round is not trying to draft a franchise QB. If you arent drafting in the first round, and likely moving up to do so, you arent serious, you are just making gestures that only appeases people who dont know better

@@TristanandIsolt Oh didnt you know, teams carry backup and 3rd string QBs. Not every draft pick is expected to be a starter because teams carry back up players in order to fill their roster. Youre welcome.

@@a.westerberg6392 For the last six years the Vikings had a top QB so drafting after the first round was doing exactly what you just talked about. Getting a backup QB to fill their roster. As soon as we didn't have a top QB we moved up to draft one at 10 overall. What are you complaining about?

Nick Mullens started a bunch of games for Shanahan, and a handful of games for KOC, with good supporting casts in both stops. Darnold has been stuck with a bunch of bad coaches and not a ton of talent around him. I hope that's the bigger reason why Darnold hasn't been as "good", statistically, as Mullens.

Last two super bowl games the Cheifs have not had a holding penalty after leading the league in 2023 and being 5th in 2022.

They hold flags every superbowl. It's let them play time. Just like nba finals. Nothing new. Amazing that they make it to the playoffs while being so heavily fouled by the refs during the regular season. Another side to every coin

@@BoondockGore The Cheifs had egregious missed holding calls that were missed and it's pretty much bullshit to any fan that's objective. Let them play is one thing, letting them get away with it multiple times is another. It happened throughout the playoffs as well. The tape doesn't lie.

@@BoondockGore Yep, I'm a hater/sarcasm and nobody brought Brady or the Patriots into this. The Chiefs led the league in Holding Penalties in 2023 (30), they were 5th in 2022 (24). In the last Two Super Bowls they've had ZERO Holding Penalties against them.. It's not hard to turn on the tape and see it

Flores is probably getting downgraded as a head coaching candidate as much for his issues with players, like a reported physical exchange with his starting QB, as he is with the lawsuit. Btw, teams want to win games and will hire anyone that offers the best chances for success. Let's not pretend otherwise. Glad to have him as our DC.

What the fuck are you talking about?

I'm a Viking fan since 1970. It is TOO early to say what the future holds at this point in time, but it is my opinion that we should have picked Byron Murphy at 10, and I did like the Dallas Turner pick at 17. I don't think McCarthy is going to be much more than another Christian Ponder, but I am not an "EXPERT" like our coaches and scouting team supposedly are!!! We got LUCKY before by drafting Dante Culpepper at 11, I don't think this guy is going to be remotely close to that, but then again, you never know. If he bottoms out, Kwesi and O'Doodles should enjoy their canoe trip in the Amazon!
