As someone that loves challenges in Pokemon, this really doesn't feel like a challenge but more of a strict rng run. Hardcore nuzlocke being a great set of rules with a good balance of rng and strategy, this feels like if you don't have a specific pokemon with specific moves then you just lose.

@@jashargubetini2477 nuzlocke is only boring if you don't allow infinite rarecandies to skip the grinding (limited by the hardcore ruleset to be no higher level than the next gym leader's ace). Trust me when I say nuzlocking is much better without the grind.

For anybody curious, doom doh goes about another 2 hours until surge where it is instantly wiped by stab muddy water coming from a sharpedo. That said, you should still check out xwater. It was a good run.

Oh man I'm so happy to see ironmon content makin the rounds. I absolutely love it and xwater does such a great job of breaking down what is honestly a pretty complicated ruleset. But once you understand the basics, it changes how you approach the game so drastically even old hands at nuzlocks and challenge modes in general will feel refreshed and excited to hop into the same games again. Also back to back to back first try labs is absolutely nutty. I keep having to edit my comment wth is happening

Never seen a run like this before with all these extra and mostly hard rules. It's interesting! I might gonna try it out for myself.

I've known a 5th grader who cried when his save data started getting corrupted (due to reckless cheats) and he lost his starter Pokemon. He cried for an hour and a half. The talk on the dangers of emotional attachment in this modded game is legit - whatever you play with accomplishes more than a starter has to. Losing it means losing something even more resilient.

teleport is kinda nice actually since you can save yourself from a poison post battle. granted you can't use it in dungeons/gyms, but still.

Me: “these runs can’t be too hard, you just need to grind. Grinding not hard.” Xwater: “You can’t kill wild Pokémon.” Me: “… welp… nvm.”

I've played a few games but I'm more a fan of other card games. Played Yugioh a lot as a kid, moved on to Final Fantasy Trading Card Game. Also just a big fan of Cardistry/ card magic
