Ranch Pork Chops on Pit Boss Pellet Grill with Bourbon-Honey Glaze

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In today’s recipe we are making Grilled Ranch Pork Chops on the Pit Boss Pellet Grill with Bourbon-Honey Glaze. This is a really easy Ranch Pork Chop recipe and the versatile bourbon-honey glaze can be used on pork chops, pork loin and chicken.
Brine Ingredients
• 1 quart water
• ¼ cup Kosher salt
• ¼ cup brown sugar
Protein Ingredients
• 1 packet (1 ounce) Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix
• 2 pork chops ~ 1.5 inches thick
• ½ teaspoon Paprika
• Kosher salt to taste
• Cracked black pepper to taste
Bourbon-Honey Glaze Ingredients
• ¼ cup Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon
• ¼ cup honey
• 2 tablespoons butter
Recipe Instructions
1. Mix the brine ingredients until the salt and sugar are dissolved.
2. Place pork chops in brine and refrigerate at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
3. Remove pork chops from brine and wipe dry with paper towels to remove any excess salt.
4. Sprinkle both sides of pork chops with the Ranch dressing mix.
5. Sprinkle both sides with paprika, then add salt and pepper to taste.
6. Preheat the Pit Boss Pellet Grill to 225 degrees F using Apple wood pellets, then add the pork chops to the pellet grill.
7. Bring bourbon and honey to a simmer in a pot over medium to medium-high heat for 5 to 10 minutes.
8. Remove heat from the bourbon and honey mixture and stir in the butter.
9. When the pork chops reach 140 degrees F (approximately 50 minutes to an hour depending on thickness), apply the glaze to the chops.
10. Cook for another 5 minutes, turn over the chops and glaze the other side.
11. Continue cooking until the pork chops are 145 degrees F.
12. Remove from the pellet grill, let rest 10 minutes and serve!

That looked awesome! I thought you might collapse after the initial foodgasm. That is definitely one to try, but I think I would initially omit the glaze and add smoked paprika. I also really like the shirt; did Tami get that one too?

I bought this one. Everyone says it suits me 😁. I almost always use smoked paprika. Ran out so used regular for this recipe. I will definitely make this one again Ken.

@@Armadillopepper Do you get the smoked paprika (and other spices) in bulk? I get mine online or from a local restaurant supply store. It winds up being much cheaper in the long run; especially for things like granulated garlic, which get used in many different dishes. Such places also often carry specialty items that you won't find in a supermarket or discount store.

I have a membership at Restaurant Depot, but get most of my spices at Publix. They deliver to me. Online might also work for me. I don't go to stores much. I go to Restaurant Depot when I want a packer brisket or a couple of pork boasts.

Hi again. Just made this tonight. I (1) didnt have any of that ranch mix and (2) i'm not that big of a fan of ranch. So instead, I substituted grill mates Louisiana Cajun rub . I also added just a little salt/pepper/garlic. The glaze is spot on! Works really well with the Cajun rub. Thank you. Looking forward to trying other recipes that you have.

I think next time I would do a bit more seasoning than I did this time. I am going to re watch the video before i do it again, and make sure my notes were correct,,,could be I wrote down a wrong temp or something. It was close tho..

Just a quick question about the chops, the recipe says 1.5 inch but the ones you cooked look about 1 inch. Which is right? The reason I ask is not sure I can find 1.5 inch pork chops in my local store. Looks amazing though and I want to try this.

The glaze is totally optional for this recipe. If you want a glaze then you might try a mix of a thin BBQ sauce and honey
