Martyn Margetson is such a dedicated and enthusiastic GK coach.

After watching this i begin to realize being GK is the most scariest and most tiring position in the field, hats off to every GK all around the world

It's been cool seeing the next generation of keepers come through. From Hart, Butland and Forster through to these guys absolutely top class

As a keeper love watching this because 1. Shows you what the pros do in a training session 2. How they are human too and they don’t catch everything but it’s the recovery that counts 3. Their still using things like the Vaseline trick which while it makes ur gloves unusable after that session for them it doesn’t matter as they have so many gloves 4. That the level these guys operate at is so high it really shows the standard of a top top goalie

Too bad Nick Pope is out with a hand injury. The quartet know each other well, as well as the England set-up. The team is lucky to have 4 keepers.

I think that this position shouldn't be concerning at all to the England supporters. England right now has Pickford, Pope, Henderson, Johnstone, Ramsdale and Butland. It's kind of saddening that the coach has to pick only three in my opinion, because all six deserve a chance to play.

Pickford is just playing because he's been around a long time and Southgate doesn't like change. But everyone knows Ramsdale needs to be No. 1. He has improved tremendously over the past 2 years. It has become one of the best

I always thought putting vaseline on the gloves would lubricate it more, but didn’t know it did the opposite. Would like to know the science behind it. Also Rammers is a top lad 😂

The science behind it comes down to chemistry, i.e. the chemical constituents of Vaseline react with the latex goalkeeper gloves are made of. True, Vaseline does boost the grip at the beginning. However, upon repeated application on the gloves, the chemical composition of the palms is altered, and this leads to its embrittlement. When this embrittlement happens, the latex will literally start to flake and even fall off upon making contact with a ball hitting it at speed -------> VASELINE makes goalkeeper gloves LOSE grip and impact absorption due to CHEMICAL DEGRADATION. Hope this helps 🙂

@@felixschmidt8364 For starters, wear and tear will happen regardless of what you use. In response to your question, I am not sure what the outcome is going to be, but I think that the risk of accelerated wear/tear will still be fairly high, because the reaction that occurs is not reversible. Best thing you can do is use water (or Gatorade). For washing, you can use a specially made glove wash (either gel or foam) beside water. Hope this fully answers your question.

You have to make sure you land correctly. Don’t land with ur arm straight and don’t try to brace yourself by landing on your arm. Make sure to land on your shoulder and bicep
