I first heard this sitting in my brothers car outside a flat he was looking at. I was 13 and it changed the direction of my life. He got the flat and I got a lifetime of musical fringe.

I remember when I was 17 years old, we went to visit friends in Bellevue, WA. My father had breathing problems, and they examined him and diagnosed him with terminal lung cancer. He and my mother immediately flew home to England, but our friend offered to keep me for the rest of my vacation at his cabin in the mountains. I decided to stay. I remember the next day, getting on his quadbike, blasting down the mountain trail at fullspeed, with this song playing at max volume in my headphones. It really was an amazing experience, and completely took my mind off the devastating news I had just heard. America really is the coolest place.

The most Spector sounding record that Phil didn't produce. End of The Century was a marriage made in heaven, Spector and the Ramones was brilliant.

I Love the RAMONES.

I briefly dated a girl named Sheena who was absolutely named after the song. She was a bit of a punk rocker herself. That's my kind of girl. Married to one now.

If this doesn't make you wanna dance you're probably dead! I found the Ramones in the early 90s. They were in heavy rotation when I was 12. Haven't listened to this years❤

This song reminds me of when I grew up in an orphanage in queens or something

@@suckmyblood Of COURSE it’s pop! Black Sabbath was also “pop” music back in the 70’s, as were Buzzcocks, Hawkwind, Alice Cooper, X Ray Spex, The Clash and The Sex Pistols….to name just a few! If you’re in the singles charts back then, you are by definition, “popular” music…also known as POP music! It’s possible to be more than one genre!
