Where is " Come On Now"?

Early 80s hanging at the basketball court in the park with the other young derelicts....this was my soundtrack. Totally underrated album.

Pleasant Dreams is not only my favorite Ramones album, but my favorite album overall and I have to say that I prefer the version we ended up getting over these early versions. Feel like the more polished version we got really highlighted Joey’s voice and that’s why I like it so much. You rarely, if ever see Joey listed on greatest rock singers lists and I think the regular version of this album is his best case for being included on those lists.

yeah, i think i like the original mix better, though it's nice to hear unreleased songs.

This is definitely my preferred version of the album. Actually sounds like Ramones!

The first full Ramones album I heard as a kid... still my favorite, it carries aggression, kindness, rage, love, enthusiasm and resignation in one pack, inspired production, masterfull musicianship, just great!

I grew up in the 80s.I played this album many times. Ramones kick ass.

Very interesting.Joeys Voice sounds great and the the 2 nd vocals are amazing.Some Guitarparts are great...for example 18:55 min at"I can`t get you out of my mind" etc.......Very good Mix!!!!!

This is great. I wish someone would give End of the Century and Subterranean Jungle proper mixes.

The 40th anniversary re-imagined, de-Spectorized version of End Of the Century was finished 2 or 3 years ago by Rick Rubin and Ed Stasium. However, due to unsolved legal issues, that at first seemed solved with Spector's daughter (as the original contract signed prohibited new mixes).

Some new AI software (don't know the name sorry) allows you to separate vocals, bass, guitar and drums. I've been thinking about trying to remix Subterranean Jungle for fun. Soon....

It's a different mix not a straight remaster

you know every now and then, not very often at all, maybe once every five years or so i will actually hear "I Wanna Be Sedated" on a radio somewhere. and all i can think is about all the great Ramones songs that i have NEVER heard on a radio somewhere. in my 50 years i have heard so many bad rock songs top the charts, i just do not understand how some of these Ramones songs were not big massive hits.

Yeah, all that shitty commercial crap like Green Day infected the radio and left a lot of these later ramones songs unnoticed. It seems like the only ramones songs they play on the radio at this point are baby I love you, I wanna be sedated, blitzkrieg bop, and sheena is a punk rocker.

Always loved this album. Can hear a more 60's influence on it

This version of Pleasant Dreams reminds me a bit of Road to Ruin. So good.

Makes me think about Road to Ruin, Rocket to Russia albums. I allways thought Pleasant Dreams would could have been one of the best albums... with the correct producer. For this mix seems that no keyboard are included. Not that amount of Dee Dee vocals at the back... but some (Dee Dee and Joey) vocals never heard before. Dee Dee's bass sounds ..the same that the original... and Marky too. ...do they? Maybe this mix needed that old Ramones tough. Can´t stop listing! Joyes' voice... simple the best for punk rockers! Seems that he´s alive singing a little different than the original... just the way he did at the concerts. Anyway, my respect for this person: Saeur Lemons. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Thanks for uploading this! I had never listen this versión of Pleasant. I think this was The Ramones version of the album and the final one is the record company version. I like the final version tho, this one sound better for me.

Sid Vicious didn't know his ass from his elbow. Ramones were one of the best though, nearly as good as the Sex Pistols with Glen Matlock on bass.

Sweet! Pleasant Dreams is my second fav. Songs like WWTA, Don’t Go, 7/11, and TKKKTMBA are definitely some of the highlights for me.

Yeow, this is a much better mix, they really overproduced their last albums. Stripped down, that’s killer

I picked this up and really glad I did solely for the never-before released ALBUM-READY version of "Sleeping Troubles" (it was released in its demo form on the Pleasant Dreams reissue from 2002 as a bonus track). That was worth it alone. "I Can't Get You Out Of My Mind" and "Touring" were also included as bonus tracks on that 2002 CD. Of course, here they're stripped back a bit more, along with the rest of the album. Regarding this new mix: I definitely like it. But, I really don't think it's that much of a drastic change from the original album mix. The main difference is that certain additional percussion/effects/Russel Mael back vocals were removed. Examples like the original stick clicking on "All's Quiet", the thunder sfx in 7-11.... etc. "She's A Sensation" also ends a bit earlier. So, it's not really a "rawer version of Pleasant Dreams" that it seems to touted as; it's the original mix but stripped back a bit in terms of additional tracks. A true raw version of Pleasant Dreams would be a remastered official version of the Ed Stasium/Tommy produced demos that have floated around in various forms. "Kicks To Try", "Stares In This Town", "I Wasn't Looking For Love", "Baby Say You Beg", (original demo of) Sleeping Troubles, "Yeah Yeah".... all that stuff included. But overall, definitely glad I bought this. and the cover art is way more in the original Ramones style as well.

I think this version of "I Can't Get You Out Of My Mind" it's my favorite of the three i heard, like the 2002 bonus that sounded really like a Mamas and the Papas kind of song with the echoing voices and then there's the Brain Drain version that sounds more hardcore but i really like this one cause you can hear Joey's voice more clean ! That's a nice plus !

@@aliendrone yeah that's very true, and a good example of what they did here with this mix. The bonus on the 2002 Pleasant Dreams CD was the finished version that was for Pleasant Dreams, but cut. Here, it's that same version, but stripped of the echoing voices and other additional production parts. I definitely agree that this version is the best!

It was recorded but not included on album probably because it was similar to Sheena and R'nR Highschool. Joey rewrote the song and gave it to the doo wop band Mystics. They recorded it under title Doreen is Never boring in 1982. Joey supposed to sing also, but I think he was sick at the time of recording or something like that. Sounds amazing. Instead of looking for that illusive hit, this is what the finished album should have sounded like. Same with End of the Century and Subterranean Jungle. Even some of the songs on Too Tough To Die sound better in their earlier mixes, like the Dee Dee vocal of Danger Zone.

Nah, this album came out in 81. This year for record store day, they released these early mixes of the album. I initialy waited like 7 hours in line for just this one album lmao. But since the record shop I went to also had the demos from pleasant dreams, I picked that up as well.

Chapman or Gotteher could've put a airy sheen on this. not enough air at the top! sounds claustrophopic.

It's almost the same production in my opinion.

it’s not remastered. these are earlier versions of the album before the final. the final one sounds too loud and rough. not even in a good way either.
