Non-guitarists and guitarists who've never played Ramones songs don't realize how difficult Johnny's style was. Especially to be able to pull it off on stage and at the high speed they played at live. The best band ever. The most real band ever.

Yeah. But the bass is a little missing in the mix.
It's such a shame Joey died at age 49 and not long after the retirement of the Ramones. Joey wanted to pursue his own career and interest but unfortunately he was cut short of doing so. I'm saddened he wasn't around to know of the Ramones induction into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. At the time of Joey's death he was worth $6 to $10 million. RIP Joey Ramone.
So much stuff keeps popping up that I feel they are still with us, I keep expecting the next tour announcement :( CJ is enjoying the fuck out of this :)

The interview is May 1992 as they played in Lyon France 1992-05-04. Mondo Bizarro was released 1992-09-01. But the footage is from the Lyon show in 1990. The setlist of the audiotape of the 1992 show does not contain 53 & 3rd and wasn't played in 1992.

Rock, a dying dinosaur.. guess that Johnny was right, in 1992 when rock was still relevant. But john saw it coming. Reggaeton or urban music the new "rock" 4/4 rythm. Glad to grew as a teenager in the early 90s and not now. Dark years for me but.. well life is kind of dark thats why music was created, some expression or escape from the human condition, a sort of truce

What do you mean? Ramones ended up having that hardcore punk sound cause of Richie Ramone joined the band not Marky. Marky tried to keep up with Richie speed but did it horrible in my opinion while Richie fast “hardcore” sound was still technical and tight/clean. Marky style simply didn’t suit the later Ramones years.

It wasn’t marky, in reality it was the drummers in Ramones that follow Johnny and Dee Dee/CJ tempo and the drummer have to keep up with them other than the other way around. And it is true it was Johnny who set the speed and tempo and who wanted to get faster each year
