Este 17 de Noviembre yo cumplire 57 años de edad y le puedo decir honestamente que su musica ha estado en mi vida desde que yo estaba en la panza de mi madre, que en paz descanse. Desde los dias de Los Relampagos, WOW, como decimos, desde los dias del caldo. Yo naci y me crié en Uvalde, Tx., habia un Drive-In restaurantito en el barrio, se llamaba Las Vegas Drive-In, y la rockola tocaba su musica y nosotros la escuchabamos desde las 3 o 4 cuadras de lejos, donde viviamos, la casa de mi madre aun exsite en ese barrio viejo. Cuando creci su musica nos llenaba de pacion y emocion por tantas boracheras, fiestas, quinceañeras y cualquier otra razon que inventabamos para empezar a tomar y gritar a lo mas alto que podiamos, " TRAGOS DE AMARGO LIQUOOOOORRR." Y como subiamos el volumen tanto a la radio, estabamos seguros que a cada nota le pegabamos igualito y al mismo ritmo que usted. A como los cuarenta años yo trabaje con el grupo de Los Palominos, esto fue como del 94 al 97 o 98, como chofer y guarda espalda. Y gracias a Dios, un millon de Gracias a mi Dios yo tuve el honor de platicar con usted y saludarle la mano detras del esenario en diferentes lugares. En Houston, en Monterrey y en el valle. Comi tacos de su mesa que le brindaban en ls conciertos y con su permiso y a su invitacion, aunque yo era un chofer y guarda espalda, mas de una ves me dijo, si tienes hambre, entrale. Si viera la veces que despues que regresaba al barrio mio le platicaba a mis amigos y familia que Ramon Ayala me habia invitado a comer de.su buffet. Que alegria, tambien en dos diferentes eventos lo acompañaba Freddie Martinez, otro heroe de mi juventud, y tambien me saludo de la mano y platico conmigo, con ustedes dos ya no me quedo mas que soñar, ha, ha, ha, andaba yo entre las nubes, entre las estrellas, y yo un simple nadie. Pues eso ya fue hace muchos años y gracias a Dios ya no tomo de amargo liquor, pero si que canto a alta voz en mi carro acompañado por usted, y le hecho puro corazon, si le subo basante al volumen me oigo igualito que usted, pero no le bajo porque WOW!! 😁 Llevo ya 19 años de vivir libre de alcoholismo y drogadiccion y en el 2011 encontre a Dios y me bautize. Imagine that go to a family party and you tell your mom that u wanna sleep and she tells you to go sleep in your cousin's bedroom while your tia or tio's are drinking. And you wake up at 7 in the morning and you go outside and while you're looking outside all you see is beer cans (Modelo, bud light, coors light etc.) And this song playing. And the real struggle is when you get close to your tio, they tell u to come to them and you do, they start hugging you and telling you that they love you so much for like 10 minutes straight. Oh forgot to mention, when you tell ur dad that you wanna go home and he says "orita", you guys leave 2 hours later. Idk if people experience it but i do

Grew up in California. Visited grandparents every summer in Jalisco. Missing them a lot hearing this.

I've been singing this song with my dad ever since I was 8, I am now 15. This song brings me back to parties we used to have back then. Everytime this song played my dad and I would always sing to it, Its basically our song haha. We still do it even till this day, except back then was better. I truly miss the the old times.
