Ramanujan भी नहीं दे पाए इस सवाल का जबाब │P vs NP problem │million dollar question hindi

P vs. NP, or whether P = NP or P equal not NP, is one of the most famous computer science problems that has not yet been solved. It is an open problem, and one of the seven Millennium Prize Problems, whose solution comes with a $1,000,000 prize awarded by the Clay Mathematics Institute. Although P and NP are just two classes of the entire spectrum of complexity classes within the field of complexity theory, the majority of common problems computed by computers fall under one of these two categories.
The question is whether a computer that quickly checks the validity of a solution for a hard problem can also find the solution itself. Since solutions to P, or polynomial-time, problems can be solved and verified quickly by computers; and solutions to NP, or non-deterministic polynomial-time problems, are fast to verify yet extremely time-consuming to solve, then P = NP implies that problems in NP can be computed equally fast to problems in P; problems that can be verified quickly can also be solved quickly.
Suppose that you are organizing housing accommodations for a group of four hundred university students. Space is limited and only one hundred of the students will receive places in the dormitory. To complicate matters, the Dean has provided you with a list of pairs of incompatible students, and requested that no pair from this list appear in your final choice. This is an example of what computer scientists call an NP-problem, since it is easy to check if a given choice of one hundred students proposed by a coworker is satisfactory (i.e., no pair taken from your coworker's list also appears on the list from the Dean's office), however the task of generating such a list from scratch seems to be so hard as to be completely impractical. Indeed, the total number of ways of choosing one hundred students from the four hundred applicants is greater than the number of atoms in the known universe! Thus no future civilization could ever hope to build a supercomputer capable of solving the problem by brute force; that is, by checking every possible combination of 100 students. However, this apparent difficulty may only reflect the lack of ingenuity of your programmer. In fact, one of the outstanding problems in computer science is determining whether questions exist whose answer can be quickly checked, but which require an impossibly long time to solve by any direct procedure. Problems like the one listed above certainly seem to be of this kind, but so far no one has managed to prove that any of them really are so hard as they appear, i.e., that there really is no feasible way to generate an answer with the help of a computer. Stephen Cook and Leonid Levin formulated the P (i.e., easy to find) versus NP (i.e., easy to check) problem independently in 1971.1 million dollar question
P ( polynomial time) contains all decision problems that can be solved by a deterministic Turing machine using a polynomial amount of computation time, or polynomial time.
There is this other set of problems which can be verified in polynomial time but, in order to solve this problem it will take more than polynomial time. For example, let’s take Sudoku for instance. Given that we have a solution for any game, we can verify it easily. This means that we can do the verification part in polynomial time. But in order to solve the puzzle, we need more time. Also as the number of grids increase, the complexity of finding a solution increases exponentially.
NP (nondeterministic polynomial time) is a complexity class used to classify decision problems. NP is the set of decision problems for which the problem instances, where the answer is “yes”, have proofs verifiable in polynomial time. (just allowed to be polynomially large, not larger)

    According to polls, most computer scientists believe that P NP. A key reason for this belief is that after decades of studying these problems no one has been able to find a polynomial-time algorithm for any of more than 3000 important known NP-complete problems (see List of NP complete problems).

    @@YashYadav-jr3ho First of all, his equations were always considered to be of great importance in the Cambridge University, especially since his death. So there's no question of any of his results being considered useless. I am a professional researcher in theoretical physics and cosmology, and I am aware of the fact that we use one of the Ramanujan's results for understanding the behaviour of stellar black holes, but that result is really not very significant. It only provides a different interpretation of the behaviour of black holes which ultimately makes us arrive at the conventional conclusion produced by Dr. Stephen Hawking. Ramanujan's summation theorem is an extravagant and misinterpreted application of Riemann Zeta function, so it's incorrect.

    The problem you said to learn how many stars is available in space , then we need satellites and algorithm required is: Machine Learning i.e. if stars find then P=1 and stars is absent then P=0 in a probabilistic fashion for one instance. But the main problem is you are calculating all the stars in our universe just staying in earth only. Here comes the law of Physics ,i.e. 1st the connectivity of satellite to our earth and 2nd the speed of satellite. Because the satellite is a machine of course that have its own duration to live. May be if it travels at speed of light and reach every galaxies in a seconds and calculate it and sends it to earth through advanced commination system. Then it is 100% possible i.e. it will be at P amount of time.

    To travel light itself it would take years only crossing the milkyway galaxy Think just travelling in straight path would take that many years then how can we explore in all directions of the universe

  • @AvinandanBose

    @AvinandanBose

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@combat6480 Light travel in a straight path doesn't mean path will straight , Here I have talked about the speed and beyond that i.e. >= 3 x 10^8 m/s , at which light travels . And it can be attained by advancement of technology such as in plasma jet engines , electric propulsion systems and nuclear fuel combustion engines and work is in underway. In LHC proton travel through vacuum and accelerator attaining 99.9% of speed of light. Who knows in future we invent an engine through which we can explore universe at rate that we have never thought of. You are saying about possibilities of today but tomorrow who knows?

    hahah nobody can count stars in real time stars and galaxies are very far so the light reaching to our senses is too old to say it currently exist ,i mean the source of light ie stars,galaxies so to get the real time analysis of stars we've to stop time in whole universe so new stars won't form, or die. even if we count all stars , that'll be the data of that frozen time if we unfreeze time the data will become older, and no longer meaningful, brw this all practice is useless cause we don't know how big is the universe, if we look data by hubble we'll get a limited distance if james webb we'll get some more data so finally, the amount of stars depends upon how advanceded our tech is.
