A Children's Rhyme on the virtues and benefits of fasting!
Ramdan Rhyme:
Today my mom told me that a special guest is coming soon!
This special guest will arrive when we sight the new moon!
I have to run and help prepare for this special guest!
We have to make sure everything is ready, it should all look its best!
Who are we preparing for? Why are we running to and fro?
We're preparing for Ramadan of course! It's coming soon didn't you know?
Ramadan is very special, and it only comes once a year!
We have to treat it very nicely, we have to hold it very dear!
So you're probably wondering, what's so great about Ramadan?
It's the month in which Allah sent down the holy Quran!
Ramadan is the most blessed month, in it all the devils are locked away!
The gates of heaven are thrown open, and we get to fast all day
We wake up at suhur, before the sun rises and have a quick meal
Then we don't eat or drink no matter how hungry we feel!
I used to think fasting was hard but then i was told about the reward
It's a way to get rid of all o our sins, and grow much closer to Allah, our Lord
Ramadan was the month in which the Quran was sent down
So we should spend lots o time reading it, and not just fooling around
In Ramdan the prophet Muhammad (saws) used to do lots o extra good
He would pray more then usual, and give charity as much as he could
When we fast we don't eat and drink but also we can't do any bad
We can't tell lies, we can't be rude, we can't make other people sad
Because Ramadan is a holy month which teaches us how to have control
We don't eat drink or do bad so we can purify our soul.
When we fast we understand that life is not just for fun
But it's to worship Allah the High, Our Lord who made everyone
Another great thing about fasting is that all your dua's come true!
When the fasting person prays to Allah, He always hears them through!
When the sun begins to set we have iftaar and open the long days fast
We read our duas, have a few dates and are able to eat at last.
In Ramadan we try to pray tarweeh, a prayer late in the night
It's what the Prophet (pbuh) did and it removes our sins out of sight
There's one special night in Ramadan in which we should do the most good deeds
This night is Lailatul qadr, the night to fulfill all our needs
Staying up and praying on this night is better than 1000 months of prayers!
It's a chance for us to remove our sins, all the layers and layers!
Fasting is only a few hours every day and yet it's a shield against the hell fire!
It makes us grow closer to Allah, and our levels grow much higher!
Heaven even has a special door, Called Ar Rayyan, for the people who fast alot!
So if we fast during Ramadan maybe we'll get a spot!
Ramadan only comes once a year and now it's finally back again!
Let's take the chance, do good deeds and make Ramadan our close friend.
