Puri Jaganath (the director) is known for making films where the heroine is either a damsel in distress or an angry woman who needs to be put in her place by a man. Either way, a man is the saving grace, and eve teasing, harassment, and sexual abuse are common points in his movies. I am telugu and grew up watching indian films, and it's quite disturbing how all the men in my family despite being as educated as they are, still continue to repeat dialogues from puri jaganath's movies and watch his movies. As educated and forward as the south tends to be compared to the north, backwards movies like this really regress all the steps we are putting forward. Disturbing, but not surprising, given the generational subconscious cues of misogyny that are passed down.

Kabir is problematic character but his transformation in the movie is great. Do not compare with puri jagannadh.

I had heard of a story where a little boy cries “wolf” and lies to people coming to help him. In the end he learnt his lesson. This video reminded me of that story. This scene not only showed the misuse of a service and seriousness of a complaint taken lightly taken by the claimant herself, but also indirectly sends message to men that this behaviour will make his person of interest “fall in love” with him. And all these was topped by the landlord standing in the background and watching the show as the man was trying to catch her while she was running away. This is NOT a “romantic scene”, but an infuriating one for so many reasons, and in my opinion can be rated mildly on the cheap side.
