Instead of hitting the hub off you can instert the 4 bolts on a few threads atleats 3 or 4. Doing the driver side - with the truck off turn the steering wheel to the right. Cut a piece of 2x2 or put an extention on the socket for the bolt to go from the bolt to that indented part on the frame. Then turn the wheel to the left and it will press out the hub with barely any effort at all, less than with the wheel on the ground trying to turn the wheel with it off. I personally believe when people do ball joints and bang on the hubs that it destroys the bearings somehow, not sure how but maybe rattles dirt or metal in there or.kicks shavings or metal dust off the hub wall into the bearings although its a uni, or something bc every hub video I have seen, the guys always say , " this should come off easy this time bc I just did the ball joints." I mean every video. Not sure why or how but I really stood out to me. Anyway the press method works great.

if you have an old rotor or replacing the rotor bolt the rotor back on and hit that , more leverage ,or if the rotor is stuck on leave it and go for it

Do these axle bearings need to be greased? Had the bearings on one axle completely burn up and fall out. Just wondering what maintenance they need. Thanks for the well done video!

They should all be a sealed unit and basically maintenance free until they fail unfortunately

@@KendorFarms myself, and two of my corn fed neighbors, who are quite big guys cannot get this thing loose. It’s just crazy that when we put the jack underneath the long bar it’ll almost pick up the front end of the truck off the jackstands before the nut will break loose. The nuts on so tight it’s almost picking up a second GEN dodge Cummins its insane

Do you think I can get hub nut off with a 1/2 inch drive or do I need to buy 3/4 inch ratchet, socket & breaker bar?

  • @KendorFarms

I've always used 1/2 inch and been successful. Its shouldn't be that bad to come loose. If it is, give it some lube or even heat fron a propane torch will help

Amazon isn’t quite there yet with the automotive side, but if you look up the part on RockAuto, it’ll give you many different prices/manufactures and maybe you can cross reference the part numbers with the ones on Amazon
