@@0827ibuki お答えさせていただきます。私も、競技車輌に直接触ったことはありませんので間違っていたらごめんなさい。最近のラリーカーに用いられている競技用トランスミッションはシーケンシャルやペダルシフトが主流です。これらのトランスミッションは、リバースギアが付いています。ですが、リバースに入れる時はいくつかの操作をしなければならない物がほとんどだそうです。ですので、リバースギアに入れる時に手間取ってしまうのです。なおかつ競技中です。かなり焦ってしまって、上手く操作出来なかっと考えられます。

2:41 the driver probably left foot braking and not ready on the clutch. as he need to slam the brake to prevent them from going down i think the transmission "forged" and bogged, that's why he can't reverse

There is no clutch in these cars, they use a sequential gearbox
