It is practiced all over the world. It means schemes similar to Agniveer. Along with OROP salaries and pensions take up 55% of defence budget. Then after Repairs & Maintenance and Training thete is very little left for modernisation. That's why we are lagging in each and every weapon platform for all 3 branches/ wings of the Armed Forces. Also, Armed Forces is for the defence of our great nation and definitely not an employment exchange.

No one can have better understanding about the negative impact of this scheme on the defense organisation except the technical staff at lower end. I agree with your point brother but see groundreality is this that it is not even viable for army see it is years of trust and friendship that makes the working of army efficient where they can kill and even die for their paltan, schemes like these is effecting this kind of feeling and somewhere it is fueling jealousy and competition within.

@@SK-nf4tt I mentioned ‘similar’ entry exists. I didn’t say the provisions are exactly same as Agniveer. And yes, Agniveer is an optional employment too. Nobody forced anybody to run and join the Army. Yes, there is scope of improvement in Agniveer wrt absorption percentage in Army and Sister services, salaries, leave policy etc. I was only driving home the point that SSC officers don’t have pension too.. which is the major point of contention against Agniveer scheme And for your kind info, nothing I have mentioned so far is half baked. Let me know if you can’t digest!

Revenue expenditure (Salaries + pensions +maintainence of Military equipment) is taking away more than 3/4th of defence budget. Military is left with no money to buy equipment to fight 500Billion Dollars Chinas Military . Ours is 72Billion. To get more money to spend on equipment , to reduce long term pension bill......Agniver scheme was devised

Modi administration mismanaged economy so have to spend 2.36 lakh core on food ration 81.5 crore Indians. After so much spend, there is no money for defense. So most of defence budget is spend on salary and pension. That's why Government introduced Agniveer - to save money on salary and pension and also on recruitment as only 25% Agniveer continue after 4 years.

Agneeveer is worest Scheme in indian Army... Shame on Government.... 🙏🙏

Now what Rajnath Singh just proved his statement by telling that if he/she dies will give compensation of 1 Cr to his family Forgetting the other context was Rahul told the tenure at which they serve the country is also really small... Instead of giving the same respect amongst the other soldiers, you are building a group that like a use and throw type. The tenure he/she fights is pretty less.. Serve for 10-15 years and move out, if they die for the country.. Call them a Martyr... Plain and simple..

@yuvrajroy1257 mate don't say things if you don't know what is been referred don't say anything. The total duration of agniveer is 4 years which includes 6 months training. Which after that, they will not considered as an officer. Under that service if an individual dies like other officers. Other officers will be deemed as martyr and no recognition for the agniveer officers. The context of debate is not about the amount given to the family who passed away but the duration that individual gets to serve the country. In every country, those who serve war or fight goes through a post trauma window, where that recovery or treatment facility itself is limited for the non agniveer soldiers. There is nothing given for the agniveer officers. Overall, that's why the term of use and throw reference was given in the speech. The topic was deviated intentionally on the main point to the amount given to the family, which is not the core point. The respect and dignity for serving the country is what been demanded. Not to give conditions apply criteria.
