They seem to be very intelligent animals. I also love how Chris can direct them wherever he wants

Hopefully there is a bit of useful information in there. We are still waiting for the one girl to sit. She keeps thinking about it, but doesn't follow through lol.

Do your geese just "go home" at night, like chickens will? If not, what do you do in the evening to get them "home"? Thanks! Love your channel!

we thought of trying to hatch goslings this year. This is our goose and ganders second season, and we have a second goose who this is her first season. They’ve laid way too many eggs, but have kicked some out, it’s around 23 eggs left out of 30ish. After laying too many in a shared nest, neither goose wanted to sit and stay. its now been a good 2 weeks or almost 3 that they’ve not really decided to stop laying and sit. but they’d sit for about 4 hours and then ignore the nest the rest of the day. it’s been very cold here. well i went out to candle the eggs. Most of them glow like glow sticks when i shine the flash light. about 4 are darker, with very large air sac areas. i saw no veins in any eggs. they have no feathers in the nest either, they just leave the eggs uncovered. i think the biggest mistake is too many eggs. the second year goose she has been licking eggs out. When there were less eggs she did cover them. they’re very protective. I’m unsure if it’s healthy to let them ride this out and learn the hard way about what they’ve done wrong. Or if it’s healthier for me to just go in one day and take them all. What do you think? maybe i’m too early since neither goose has chosen to stay and sit for more than a few hours at a time, even through the nights.

when they go broody do you have to keep them together the male and the female or you just leave the female to lay eggs and incubate?

With geese, it is better to leave the male with the female. He doesn't incubate, but he does "protect" the female and is active in raising the goslings etc. This is very different from other birds, such as ducks and chickens where the male has no interest or part to play in raising the chicks. The female is likely not going to be too happy if you did remove the male completely
