RAISING BEEF CATTLE FOR BEGINNERS - Cattle Round Up & Auction Hauling!
In this tenth video in my series "Raising Beef Cattle for Beginners," Devin DeBord and Logan Machacek help me work my cows and calves using their cattle dogs. As I mentioned in a prior video, "working" my cattle means deworming my cows, vaccinating, deworming, and ear-notching all of my calves, and castrating my bull calves. If you want to know why I need to use cowboys and cattle dogs to work my cattle, check it out!
Special thanks to Devin DeBord, Logan Machacek, and Alfonso for the help!

Mahalo and Aloha right back at ya! 👍🏼
Hi there, I'm just getting into cows. How do I introduce unhandled cows to a herd. I'm brining in a cow with nursing calf. Current herd is super friendly and like puppy dogs. Also, we have goats and pigs coming in and out of the pasture. Should I be concerned that the mamma cow will be aggressive towards the other animals? Thanks!

Good question! I think she’ll be alright. Cows are herd animals and don’t see other cows as threats. Best of luck!
Do you use any kind of anesthesia before castration or ear clipping?
