I like the shot of the zombies clearly coming from the graveyard, it's the first sign that, as shown by latter events, that the outbreak is more supernatural than biological. Plus, with the joggers still jogging and the zombies showing fear of the dog, it hints that the zombies have retained a bit of their human memories, so what happens later makes more sense.

Been almost 6 years since this was uploaded, I remember seeing this when it was first uploaded, too! Man, the time has really flown by.

After watching all the current episodes, I must say that this is genius. Subtly, you have included her entire family into this scene as zombies, but no one even noticed/thought of it until episode 4 came out, showing their tragic fate.

Raised by Zombies is a short, currently incomplete silent series of animations that focuses on the growth and adventures of a young mysterious girl in a zombie infested Perth. It is not your typical horror filled depiction of a post-apocalyptic world. Instead, this surprisingly endearing silent short animation utilizes a jarringly cartoony and simple style that downplays the violence and emphasizes the conveyance of emotion, which Collins does very well. This subversion of the typical style of zombie based films is why I find Raised by Zombies so appealing. Instead of being a solely survival oriented plotline, Raised by Zombies places just as much emphasis on ideas of family, coming of age, sacrifice and friendship. The animation goes further than simply ‘man versus zombies’ and is more accurately summed up as ‘nature versus the unnatural,’ owing to the allegiance between animals and the innocent protagonist when facing the threat of the undead. What starts out as a seemingly simple and comedic plotline develops into quite a complex story as the protagonist ages and goes through the trials of living in a post-apocalyptic society and we learn more about their family and past. Guy Collin’s simple cartoony line based style adds to the charming nature of this animation, and the smooth animation grants it with a real sense of liveliness. While it would have been nice to see a wider usage of colour, I’m sure this can largely be accounted to the fact Guy Collins worked on this film solo, and in that respect it is a very impressive feat. Another consequence of working on a personal project alone is the rather slow and irregular output of content. The latest episode ‘Lost’ was released 9 months ago and left us with a lot of unanswered questions! However this is completely forgivable considering the time it must take for Collins to finish these shorts in such a high quality. I’m looking forward the the next episode being released, and keep up the great work, Guy! (Sorry this review seem so out of place, it's for an assignment. I mean every word though!)

I remembered this recently and couldnt find it searching for zombie comics or zombie cartoon. Threw perth in there as a stab and here we are again! Now I remember the music as well. This will be running around in my head for ages😄

To think that it's been nearly 7 years now! Gosh, I remember finding this randomly back in 2013 and instantly being hooked waiting for new episodes, still am to this day. Even now, i'm just now noticing little details, too, even with the fact i've re-watched all the episode so many times.

This is the best zombie movie I've ever seen so good and so touching

The unofficial title of the series is now "Saved by a cat, a dog and a bear from zombies then delivered by air to a old man out at sea", it just flows off the tongue. But seriously, the title is both metaphorical and literal, the literal part will be properly revealed near the end of the series :]
