Raised by Wolves Season 1 ending explained. Deep dive breakdown of the ending of Raised by Wolves after Ep. 10 “The Beginning”. Please Subscribe - bit.ly/PetePeppers
Did HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves Season 1 finale answer all the questions? Not even close, but we got some answers and a lot to speculate about. The series continued with its trend of asking more questions than it answers, and adding to the list of mysteries. Mother’s pregnancy does come to an end when she gives birth to a flying serpent. It appears that the power behind the voice that people hear on Kepler-22b was responsible for what happened to her in the sim. In a dramatic sacrifice, Mother and Father decide it must be destroyed so they fly the lander into one of the pits.
Episode 10 also moved all the characters around to set up the beginning of season 2. The ending of the season finale tells us a lot about what to expect. Campion, Sue, Holly, Hunter, and Vita form one group. Sue is wounded after being shot by Paul, which means Campion will have to take on the role of protector. Paul ended the season alone, but he may reconnect with his father or the other Mithraic warriors and clergy that are still on the planet. Marcus has discovered that there is a new group of atheists that have landed on Kepler, and that they have an ark in orbit. Mother and Father crossed through in their attempt to destroy the serpent and are most likely in the tropical zone. Separated from the children, and possibly behind the electromagnetic field that protects that area.
In Raised by Wolves Season 2 there are so many questions that need to be explained. Who is the voice that Marcus and Paul hear? How is the voice connected to the person Mother thought was her creator in the sim? Who was the creature that looked human and was carrying the tarot cards? How many atheists are on the ark? What was going on with ghost Tally? How did Mouse come back after falling in the pit?
From Executive Producer, Ridley Scott, Raised by Wolves centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.

(Pardon my english hehe) In Occultism, the word involution is used a lot. When humans are involved with dark stuff, not only their soul suffers a change, but also their bodies. They become more animal like. I related the term used in the series, with this.

This show is amazing and I'm as hungry as a newborn serpent for more! I don't mind cliffhangers as long as they're resolved eventually, then sew in more as we go. Reading these comments, I'm seeing people that have no patience and others taking their moral high ground; This is a story of survival in a harsh world with few known resources and unforgiving horrors. Sound familiar? Sound like a world you live in with a brutal, violent history? Starting from, what amounts to almost square one, with so many unknowns...The storytelling well seems far from going dry. Let the drama unfold, hang on tight, and support the show so we can get the resolutions! Personally, I feel this show is the best original content sci-fi has been blessed with in a very long time. Let's try not to be to hasty with criticism with a series that has barely gotten its feet wet!

Spoilers guys, but Kepler is basically Reverse Garden of Eden were Father and Mother are Adam and Eve, but the devil is ruler of the garden not God. The voice they hear is the devil feeding evil intents, the origins of the necromencer originated from Kepler with the intent of destroying Earth. Also Mother commits “adultery” and thinks she’s the chosen one to birth the holy child but instead births a floating serpent, serpent was the form which the devil took when he appeared to Eve in the garden of Eden. The shows has so many layers.

I haven't felt this way in a while, but i almost cried when they tried to kill mother and father off, specifically father who is my favorite character. Abubakar Salim really does the character well, and my feelings are being pulled like tuggle war, they killed him, brought him back, almost killed him again, reprogrammed him so we could see him, but it wasn't him, brought him back, and then they kill him again!? oh man was i upset. Then the baby rewinded time or something and he is alive again, sheez my feelings cant take anymore. I really hope they don't do the whole "the fall from the lander damaged father" please stop hurting father lol. For real though, the only thing keeping me from crying when mother and father said their goodbyes to eachother, was the fact that my girlfriend was sitting next to me, I was trying to act tough.

I think the finale has been great, of course the behaviour of some characters could have been done better in some parts but overall I like this idea of not explaining the real reasons behind this colonization. The main plot has been explained very well I think, those snakes are manipulating humans and androids to get their shit done. I also like that there is not a real protagonist yet, it gives you this sense of non-belonging of this planet, this eerie feeling of kids raised by androids and this ongoing theme of fake parents/creators that comes directly from Prometheus. What I maybe don't like too much is that some references are a bit too literal, Romolus and Remus, Adam and Eve and the Snake, while indeed I like that it looks really like the same story of Alien somehow. But for sure all very fascinating, well directed and acted, amazing colours and scenes. I love this show!

I feel the biggest clue is the title, Raised by Wolves, and the Remus and Romulus reference (the tooth relic found on the arc, which serves as a pretty blatant reminder it's all linked, as if the title inst enough) is most likely the two children, Campion & Paul. For those that aren't familiar, Remus and Romulus were raised by a she-wolf. You can see the similarities between Mother and a vicious, but protective wolf! ultimatelyUltimately in that legend it Romulus kills Remus, I'm willing to bet that Campion will at some point kill Paul. It certainly seems as though despite the kindred upbringing, they're now on very different paths. Also, interestingly, Snakes are seen as fertility symbols in some cultures... Also, snakes have been symbolized as the umbilical cord, joining all humans to Mother Earth. Perhaps there something in that?! I'm mostly as confused as you lot regarding the dude in the Dodecahedron, the voice, the serpent child, the pregnancy, the temple, the Neanderthals, the hooded dude, DEvolution(?), what will happen to the kids and Marcus, Mother & Father, etc. But one things for sure... I CAN'T WAIT TO FIND OUT!

What if someone from Kepler did the analogue move to the Sol C (our system and planet) 100.000 yrs. ago, with the same idea - implanted through genetics, idealogy and/or nano-tech?

Oh come on Peter, you must be old enough to remember the biggest con of a TV series (ie LOST) that had so many unanswered questions (ie WTF was the polar pear about) that you no one could remember all the past suggestions. In Art you have some thing called suggestion when the viewer is expected to fill in what the painter has left out, you will be too young but the film industry in the 1970s decided to take this idea on with endings that was left to the viewer to make their own one up. One big 'Con' it is simply we no longer have people who are able to write great stories that along the story give clues, pointers, ask questions etc which at the end are neatly brought together to give a proper and satisfying end. The best example of this is the two films Florette de Mar and Manon de Source when one of the men who tortured the hunchback and caused his death is told at the end of the 2nd film, is the very son he had always wanted, fantastic ending that is a 'WOW' moment in films. Now it is either we no longer have people intelligent enough to write proper stories that we once could do, writers are just too lazy and it is so easy to just come up with quirky strange suggestions or more likely Hollywood and TV companies as with LOST do this on purpose to keep us hooked for advertising purposes. It is really no more than 'clickbait' as shown so well in the Netflix documentary the Social Dilemma. You are just one of the many suckers that as I am doing watch this stuff. What is farcical is that YOU and so many other people produce on here videos and make out you understand what is going on and offer wanted explanations, when you don't have the slightest idea at all. Yes it has been promised more series but I bet you the writers and the producers won't have the foggiest what they will do next. From some media sources TV writers plough sites such as yours with the comments to get ideas for the next series. It is quite ironic we saw this great big snake, maybe you heard of Ouroboros that eats its own tail, which is what is happening here.

I am worried about the story drifting off into chaos. If it's like Lost, things will quickly devolve into that. I think the serpent beings all died out for some reason and something (manifested by the Sol voice and "Campion Sturgess" in the sim) wants to bring them back, but they can't be on the other side of the planet for some reason. We also know that there is a human subspecies (H. neanderthalensis) on the planet, as well as the creatures (who are hinted as being further "Devolved" humans). From Christianity, we know this: "So the LORD God said to the serpent: 'Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and every beast of the field! On your belly will you go, and dust you will eat, all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.'" - Genesis 3:15. There might be the same "enmity" between the serpent(s) and the devolved humans on the planet. Just a conjecture.

I feel bad because @petepeppers you seem very disappointed in the finale. I did enjoy it and I'm glad that we have things to look forward to in season 2. I feel that if they'd given us 'answers' to questions/mysteries raised in this first season, well, I would be less excited for the next season. I don't mind a 'slow burn' approach here because I enjoy theory crafting KZreadrs very much- I often enjoy those kinds of 'what if it means x' instead of things wrapping up neatly season by season. I very much enjoyed the entirety of season 1. I feel like if they rush to give too many answers upfront I'm not as likely to watch when a new season rolls out. If there really will be 5 seasons I think they have positioned the show in such a way that when season 2 airs, it will answer the questions/mysteries of season 1, set up new questions/mysteries in season 2 that will be answered in season 3 and so on. If that's the case I think it will be an incredibly good series overall and I'm looking forward to it unfolding naturally rather than if they just spoon-fed answers to us in the finale. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm excited for season two- though I'm hoping it doesn't take 5 years to release it. (looking at you, GoT & Westworld) Thanks for another great video, Pete. ☮ 🙂

The OA on Netflix was also supposed to be a five-season arc but we only got 2 and a lot of mysteries/questions were just bypassed and left unfinished. Even a tiny peek would make me extra excited for season 2. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who thought Mother was going to have a transhumanist baby- a little cyborg baby, as Mother said her baby was only half carbon-based. I was completely surprised by the snake creature. Also, I wish more ppl had seen the cave paintings and maybe discussed what they thought they might mean, and lastly, I wanted more info on the hooded priest guys and the ritual they were performing or witnessing. it hints at answers. We now know that the entirety of the Mithraic religion came from Keppler 22b. We know that necromancers were created using technological knowledge that came from whatever or whoever was on Keppler 22b. We also know that neanderthals exist on this planet and that potentially the history of the human race and the Earth itself is far stranger than we thought. We also know that "Sol" or something that pretends to be a god exists on this planet and it has the capability to interact telepathically with both robots and humans, as well as create "ghostlike" facsimiles of dead people and animals. We know "Sol" wants to create this serpent creature, the same kind of creature whose bones lie all around the planet, and that it needed a Necromancer (which is a robot that was made presumably from its own technology) to bring it to life. That's what we know so far. It raises many new questions, but the world and setting of the story is slowly beginning to take shape. I'm interested in finding out more.

I do think the Mithraic religion was made up by the "superior being/AI/telepathic? entity" in order to communicate with the humans and a level the humans would be able to understand. What Mary/Sue says to Mother, along the lines of... an unexplainable happens that humans have to give credit to something in order to comprehend...something something. Then they hire a new director (cheaper) for the next episode then a new one for the next episode and so on and so on. I 100 percent agree with you. Too many brains made a complex dish that audiences cant digest. Why to make massive complex stories with unexplained plot. Nothing relate to other. Whole sequence breaked after 3rd episode

My theory, all these holes are actually made by the worms. Necromancers in the locked cages are used to create them like eggs.

All of those holes on the planet are for the flying serpent. Thats how he'll be able to pop up all over the place and terrorize the planet. Like a rotten apple with a worm in it
