    Whether it is dark, cloudy, rainy or snowing, Ethan, you always brighten my day. People keep bothering you about “your friend”. If you show him or not, or he wants to be on camera, is no one’s decision. It’s yours, and your friend’s. No one else even has the right to ask or pressure you. I am so glad you found someone, that can be your friend, maybe best friend, or maybe even your other half. Once again, that is between you and him. People, on here, please stop bothering them about that. That is their personal life. What Ethan decides to share with us about his travels, and daily events, is blessing enough. Ethan, the only thing I will say about your friend, is that he is the luckiest person in the world to have found you to be in his life. Enough on that topic. On a separate topic, Ethan, I mentioned something in a text a while back about wanting to help you out. It seems as if you have almost daily struggles, maintaining a power source. I know a lot about vehicles, electronics, RVs, etc. If there is anyway , we can make contact, other than on here, via email or text or some method that still protects your privacy, if you could tell me what your daily load requirements are, and how much power you actually use, I would like to help you come up with the system That eliminates that from one of your daily things to worry about. Your life, that you share with us is so enjoyable to watch, and most of us get to see so many parts of the country, and the world that we could never dream of seeing otherwise. You are such a sweet guy and a blessing to all of us. Thank you for what you do. Like I said, let me know if there is anyway I can help, anonymously if required. You take care and be safe both of you.

    In Regards to your lightning problem (8:09) you can attach a spring loaded copper rod (doesn't need to be long, just a bit higher than your solar panels ) to your roof with a insulated cable (6mm insulated copper cable should do) that you can simply plant into the ground whenever the weather gets bad, it'll act as a lightning rod.

    Two things that might help you out is a water collection and filtration system for your water intake (if I remember correctly there's ones that are like a bag you hook up to the camper and it's intake calve) to collect water when it's not necessarily available for you to get normally, and a foot powered generator, not only is it Silent it's usually easy to store, small and compact, can work no mater the weather conditions and when you can't go outside it's a way to stay fit and get your exercise in while also being able to relax and create/store power while watching TV or using the laptop even when you can't get sunlight for your solar panels. Hope this helps you out... if you don't want to use the foot settle generator you could try a pet wheel/small wheel generator if you have a pet that's very active and likes to run a lot so they can get that pent up energy out of them while also helping generate power.

    RE: Solar....not knowing your solar setup, is there a possibility that your solar power station can be charged indirectly from your truck idling? Basically a 12v/110v inverter connected directly to your truck battery and a 110 charger input into your solar power station - which is much quicker (and more fuel efficient) than a 12v trickle charge to the solar power station. This is what I am working through with my teardrop trailer's solar setup for those rainy/cloudy no solar days. Keep up the fun times and enjoy the journey!!

    Concerning the lightning, consider a lightning rod that you would insolate from the camper. It would be in three parts. The top would only come out when the camper is at rest. The middle would be held up by attaching it to the camper. The bottom would be a heavy-duty wire and a metal spike set into the ground. You might have to make it yourself, or it could be a camper asseccories..

    One of the safest places to be in a lightening stomach ie inside the metal vehicle! You're sitting inside of what's called a "Farraday Cage" ! Look it up! Electricity always follows the path of Least resistance and the metal has less resistance than air so it flows all around you!! A guy named Farraday invented and you've probably seen pictures of a man sitting in a cage with huge arcs of artificial Lightening is zapping all around him ,striking the cage, leaving him totally unharmed! Some dipsricks always pipe up and Say that's because of the Rubber Tires!If they Bothered to Think about it they should Realize that if the Titanic,Unthinkable voltag es it Requires to jump thru Miles of one of best Insulation in the World ( AIR) would be hindered by 1/2in. Of Rubber is Preposterous! As you drive along the freeways you can observe big Cages of Chainlink fence surrounding Electrical Substations ! Those are Farraday cages to Protect the power grid from Lightening! And finally, I and a friend sat in my VW BUS in Tioga Pass humongous thunder storm ,continuous bolts ! The Van took at least one whopper maybe more, no telling in the nonstop bolts,. When we got out from under the storm and checked out the damage all we could see was some cooked paint on a rain gutter!

    You can put a few copper cables around and across you panels and run them down a cable to the ground. This is called grounding. The lightning prefers to hit the grounding cable, not your panels. This what lightning rods were for. Yes your panels can be perfectly protected.

    I love watching your videos. I live in New Orleans and don't ever really go camping. I used to go out into the bayous as a kid. Mosquitoes will tear you up here, and I now know that there's flesh-eating bacteria in the water. You know, in addition to the large carnivorous lizards (alligators). 60 degrees isn't cold for me, personally. It dipped to 18 degrees here. I was gaming in just shorts, no shirt, opened both my big bedroom windows, and used a fan to pump the cold air in. I love the cold. Stay safe out there.

    All four seasons in one day! if it weren't for the forest of cactus, be just like here in Scotland. I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing Peaches in a muzzle. It's not like she is going to savage passing hikers!! Can't she just have a stick to chase? Most dogs manage.

  • @italiangm1

    @italiangm1

    The muzzle isn't about Peaches' interaction with people, it's about her eating habits when not under close supervision. Until she learns (if ever) that some things are not safe to eat, the muzzle is the most humane way to prevent her from hurting herself.

    You’re awesome dude, I’m searching for a small camper to road trip like you do, it looks so beautiful out there. I had bought a mini bus 2 years ago to convert it but due to financial difficulties I had to drop that project which was devastating 😢 but thankfully I’m in a better place now and I finally bought a small property and once it’s fixed and rented I’m getting on the road, your videos have reminded me of how many places I’ve always wanted to see before my time is up in this realm. Keep up your good work dude, maybe one day our paths will cross, either way; happy trails buddy.

    i think as a safety play i would have a wind generator. for when your battery is getting low. you know, something that sits on top of the rv powered by the wind. at least you can keep your battery topped up without using fuel just as long the wind is blowing of course.

    While not a bad idea, can it be installed permanently and stay attached driving at highway speeds? If not, the question becomes where to store it where space is already limited.

  • @caseunkadios286

    @caseunkadios286

    As to where to store it some can be attached to the back of a camera or rv and will fold into itself and be stored (like a car Attenta) on the outside of the Vehicle itself solving the space issue. Also another alternative is a physical generator like the bicycle pettle generator where all it is is basically the pettles and the generater/fonvert to convert pettling into power

    Try an rv salvage yard to find a replacement door. In the older square doors are pretty standard. If I remember correctly they were made in two or three sizes..And whats up with that thirst trap tag photo. Not that anyones complaining. LOL
