instead of being "held back" by JYP, i think they're both trying to find a sound that will cater to both local and overseas market. while JB's songs might sound good to us, JYP also wants to ensure they capture their homeground fans too. i dunno, rather than just dismissing JYP as someone who doesn't appreciate JB's music, for me, it's more of him sharing with JB his experience and the big picture about the industry because he cares about him and the group as a whole. ^^

faricsyung i see what you’re saying, but when you look at a group like twice as well, he holds them back too. not just with their music but their entire look. got7 and twice are never allowed to be experimental with their comebacks and for twice at least they have a steady audience in korea that will support them no matter how similar each era is, got7 is seriously suffering when JYP refuses to be experimental considering other boy groups nowadays

I personally think both JB and Jinyoung are really poetic when it comes to lyrics. Even Youngjae said in the team only JJP have broader stories and poetic sights of even smaller things. Thus why i think JJP verse 2 album were much more superior from any of got7’s album because while its a simple concept, the context were really deep. There is only 2 of them so its probably easier to make a parallel decision on the songs. But it also helps that much to their differences, JJP actually think alike.

Actually the GOT7 members are really great when they do their own SOLO song. Like have you heard JB's song Fade Away? That is a total bops yall need to listen. His song called Rainy is trully my style and is so good. Jinyoung's song The Day is really great, his voice sounds so good there and i feel calm when I listen to The Day. (JJproject's album called Verse2 deserve album of the year tho) Yugyeom's Solo songs (his soundcloud songs) are freaking amazing. This boy has a unique style that is rare in Kpop. Youngjae's solo songs are the best for me. His song called My Day and Trauma is on another level and yall shouldn't sleep on that.

2024 and as a fan i'm still waiting...

Jaebeom has that type of music that comforts and really speaks to people, and that’s something rare to find nowadays. Just now, I got comfort and he sang out everything I wanted to say to this one person. Jaebeom deserves so much more honestly.

Couple years later...Jay B is signed to higher music, just released switch it up and essentially making music he wants ... PROGRESS🎶

I truly admire and respect Got7 when they left JYP. That took a lot of courage. Look at what they all have accomplished after that. The fact that they are still together as Got7, while pursuing their individual careers is incredible. Self-respect, guts, amazing talent, love and friendship can really make a difference. Bravo!

All of my favorite Got7 song : Teenager, You Are, Look are all composed by JB (with the collaboration with other composers too) but he have a HUGE potential in composing. I love his song style best, it has this groovy beat and he does not include electronic noise so its easy to listen

Yeah I was angry for this too to compare JB's songs to his at all times. Like I did this chord and it's work so it's will work for you too or because it don't work with me so It won't work for you too. Because yes the song to work for you JYP but that does not necessarily mean that it will work with GOT7 or JB too. It is not the same audience, same years or age and therefore it is not necessarily the same musical tastes and it seems like he does not take this fact into account

7 for 7 was the perfect example of what happens when you give GOT7 free reign. It is by far my most favorite GOT7 album, then there's Eyes on you and Present you & me, then Spinning Top. Verse2 and Focus are on a different level altogether. Masterpieces in their own right.

@@vel7609 Yeah, even though I really enjoyed DYE title song, it wasn't produced by any of the members. I don't mind though, since good music is music no matter who produces it and GOT7 can pull off anyone's song, but when it comes to their personal style, the B-sides produced by the members were amazing. Call My name title track was again produced by someone outside the group and Jaebeom only co-wrote the lyrics, yet YCMN is a masterpiece. Still the albums I mentioned before had a distinctive GOT7 flavor to them and still stand as my most favorite GOT7 albums.

JB is more to R&B genre which is different from what Got7 is. I love to see this extension of his & I personally think that all Got7 member should produce their own solo stuff so that we can see the variation in what Got7 have right?

Everybody this is a good example of hard work and never giving up no matter how depressed you are and how hard the situation is even everybody is opposing you ...the result is sweet.💗

I feel so bad for GOT7. I feel like JYP holds them back musically.
