Rainforest sounds - Costa Rica jungle atmosphere

Rainforests are loud places, hot, humid and crawling with wildlife. Some of the jungle creatures don't care much about humans, while others might see me as a threat, or a tasty morsel. In most cases they will steer well clear, but the presence of potential danger heightens my senses and helps me be fully immersed in the landscape without allowing my mind to wonder.
I've thrown myself into rainforests head-first many times. From the relative safety of a frontier town I drove right into the thick of the jungle. When I ran out of road, I took boats, planes or I simply hiked for days to reach parts of the jungle that had barely seen humans. The first few experiences were pretty overwhelming. My ears were registering the soundscape but my brain decided this was the least of my worries when I was swarmed on by bees, wasps, mosquitoes and other thirsty critters.
Once I arrived at camp and was sitting in a hammock in relative calm, I could finally listen. At first everything was a wall of sound but eventually it started to make sense. Each creature has its own little place in the frequency spectrum or time domain. The apparent chaos is random only when looked at (or listened to, rather) for very short durations. As soon as you zoom out by listening intently for anything longer than half an hour, you start to see patterns emerge. Listen for longer and you will immerse yourself into the ebbs and flows of the rainforest.

I was in the Costa Rican Jungle two years ago. The experience changed my life. This audio puts me right back into the jungle. I can see and feel the wilderness around me. I remember the crocodile, the howler monkey, the ant eater, the boars, the birds, the frogs, the insects, the fish, the sun, the beach, the rain, the mountain, I could go on.

You're very welcome! Not everyone can tell what's real and what's layered/looped, but on a subconscious level they can probably feel it.

unfortunately there are literally MILLIONS of rain videos on youtube which of them 99% are just looped and mixed noise. Its like a wash of content each all getting thousands of views and guess, people dont even realize it. The few real rain recordings are getting burried below that mass of content.
I miss Panama and Costa Rica. Havent been to the tropics for 3 years. I used to go 1-2 times a year....this vid makes me happy

@@jeffschultz732 No bud, I've never been out of Ireland 😭 I'd LOVE to go tho, I've always said it, Costa Rica would be my place to go, preferably during rain season.. If I had the money I'd love to go for a week and just stay in a cabin in the forest for a whole week and just relax and sleep to the rain sounds.. One can dream 😁💙
This is my dream, a cabin right here for a whole week without leaving 😍 and if it rained a few days, even better.. Just pure peace 💯🙏💙

La Anita Rancho Guanacaste! Just returned today. Cabins Cacao farm. Pablo and Ana lovely hosts. No signal and you will need to either drive or make arrangements with them. Loved it!
I used to need silence to sleep but ever since i went to costa rica a week ago ive been needing this video to sleep - i miss the rainforest sounds while i sleep so bad. I think ive found my happy place
