Oh. I just realized that no matter whether or not max finds happiness in his friends and counselors at camp Campbell, at the end of the summer he has to go right back to parents that neglect him Makes you think about why he refuses to be happy

If, you mean if he goes back, remember these are the same parents who sent their child nothing more than a hoodie, did not show up for parents day, and cared so little about sending him to camp, that they didn't sign him up for one. They can further neglect him by either not picking him up at camp or not being there when the bus drops him off at the end of summer, even going as far as to be on a vacation without him. Worst is, his friends get involve, going on a hunt to find his parents, only to find out they are much happier without Max. Is your heart broken yet? Because mine is.

@@safurahh.8093 I know, me to. But sadly, that seems like how Max's storyline is heading. He hated camp, then came around it and we learned about how little his parents cared, eventually one or two things will happen: either the kids will want to go hunting for Max's parents and find out that they're happier without him, hurting Max even more or worse he'll become so happy at camp and be taken away from it by his parents because they no longer want to pay for it.
