Wow. Thank you ☺ I discovered DIO many years ago around Holy Diver time, then went back and loved DIO Sabbath, then explored Rainbow (everything backwards lol). But I only recently listened to the first Rainbow album again, and I am of the firm belief that this is fairly close to the most beautifully perfect song ever recorded, which meant that as an old but dedicated bedroom guitarist, I had to learn it. Your video is super cool, and the scrolling tab is amazing, thank you so much 😊

That is beyond awesome and very helpful - just a note that there is a mistake on the TAB @ 2:28 for anyone interested. He stays on the B-string on that iteration (play the other version of that riff and you are golden) 🤘

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, or it's because I'm just learning, but isn't something else than the tab being played in the beginning? He never hits the B string on the 3rd fret (D note?), he hits the G string on the 7th fret. I understand they're both a D note (?), but does that mean there are other inconsitencies in the TAB?

I thought you meant the 3rd fret position phrase. With tab there’s so many ways you can interpret stuff - Iommi riffs often need certain fingerings and related moves/slides etc to get the sound: just the notes as numbers is a start only

Tbh I’d tab that note as 3rd 7th fret because the classic presentation is the note nearest the nut early in a phrase is a locator for the first finger so if you start that phrase at first finger 5th fret the normal way would be D on 3rd str 7th fret

@@gesp5151 any chance you could explain that last part as if I was 5? 😅 I've taught myself a little guitar, but I don't know any music theory... Yet. Only very recently I've started playing around in the Am scale shape (mainly at the 5th fret) playing incredibly simple melodies.

Yeah this is cool and all, but there are some thing where the the tabs don't match what is being played. Like for example the intro right at the start. The 3 on the 2nd string there is played as a 7 on the 3rd string. But hey, stilllearned a lot
