Me too. I'll never forget it. I also saw him with Elf. Black Sabbath and DIO. He and his band Elf were a warm-up band for Deep Purple Mark 3 David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. Also, I got to see Deep Purple Purple in 72 Ian Gillan and Roger Glover. Those were magical times. And of course saw Zeppelin 73. I had a great life for an ole bastard. Rock on 🤘 keep Ronnie Cozy Powell and Jon Lord memories alive. RIP to all of them.

I was fortunate to see Ronnie about six times, mostly with his own band. The vocals at the end of this song are, in my personal opinion, the greatest by any rock musician on any track ever. The day he died, the very first thing I did was play this song. About 5 times in a row. Next time you play it, the guitar solo in the middle will make more sense. Ritchie Blackmore is playing the next verse…the wizard climbing the tower only to plunge to his death. RIP Ronnie.

Emma RJD started out singing in the late 1950's in singing groups during time's era of music. Then in late 60's to early 70s, RJD went into more edgy rock that solidified him as a Rock Legend. RJD stated that playing trumpet when he was a teen helped his singing skills.
