But these legends never see themself as the greatest . Ritchie has said himself he considered players like Jeff Beck , much better than him . Probably the only guy to think he's better .. than everyone is Yngwie . But he lives in his own fantasy ,.

Ritchie has so much talent and so many epic riffs it's impossible to pick a favorite.

All my life Blackmore is my favorit! Any song made very careful ! Thank you Ritchie!!!

I think it was around 83/84 when I rented this video from my local video store. And kept it long past its due date. Cost me fortune, like $5.00, or something. Who the F$#@ walked around with that kind of cash in those days. But the late fee was worth the knowledge gained. I studied every note and every move Ritchie made, and learned so much that people said I sounded like Yngwie Malmsteen. Whoever that guy was. Little did I know that all I had to do was wait a few more months and that video store would be out of business, like all the others. Bamm! I would've had a free video. But thanks to KZread I can still catch my favorite players on one platform. Rainbow"s, Live Between the Eyes, and, Hendrix Plays Montrose.

I had the same white fringe leather jacket in the '80's! I was at this Rainbow & Scorpions concert in 1982! It rocked! ("Straight Between the Eyes" & "Black Out" albums - both excellent!)

When we first got a video recorder I saved up every penny I could to buy this video. Watched it every morning before school and every day when I came home and practiced on an old acoustic ,,,bought a Jap Fujigen strat in 86 and the rest is history. Still have the video and the strat and Im still out gigging regularly.....Rock and roll history

Wish Ritchie had never left Deep Purple. Then again, Rainbow is the better extension of what he wanted to accomplish as a rock god.

I bought many of their albums! concert August 18, 1982 IN SAN ANTONIO. Saxon opened the show. I WAS THERE IN THE FRONT ROW WEARING WHITE SHIRT WITH BLACK SLEEVES

I agree Saw this tour in van 15 thousand fist pumping by the end of the show awsome then Pat Travers came on stage next.Ritchie had the whole building alive the whole place had there fists in th air.

I saw this tour in Memphis just a couple of days away from this show. FUCKING BAD ASS !! This was Rainbow's most commercial success period !! JLT put the commercial edge in the band. He had the sound and the look to make it happen. No he was not Ronnie but Ronnie was WAY MORE METAL !! This is hard rock at its best!

A guitarist’s guitarist. Very popular, although I never understood why he isn’t a household name in rock music. He has a bad reputation although I don’t believe it. Seems like a lot of fun in interviews and very entertaining to watch live. Saw this tour at the old Philly Spectrum and a few years later saw the DP Perfect Strangers tour there as well. What a incredible time in rock music history.
