Rainbow River Florida Snorkeling and Exploring

The Rainbow RIver in Dunellon Florida is an amazing place for freediving, snorkeling and scuba diving. The river starts at Rainbow Springs State Park and flows out to the Withlacoochee River. Over 400 million gallons of freshwater flows through the river everyday. Rainbow springs and Rainbow River are a true natural Florida experience and is a must see for anyone interested in Florida Springs.
In this video we freedive to the bottom of the river to find, Gar, Sand boils, sunken trees, boulders, and more. We also explore down a small creek in the woods.
Come visit Rainbow River and Rainbow Springs State park it is one of the best Florida State Parks. Please let me know if you would like to see videos of other Freshwater springs like Ginnie Springs, Blue Springs, Ichetucknee springs, Rock Springs, Weeki Wachee, or others.

In the water was oy 2 divers doing photography and a older couple swimming. Was awesome to have that mostly to myself!

I love Florida's springs and I have only been to a few. Wakiva is a great one but still need to hit the surrounding hot spots. Wakiwa springs, Kelly park. Recently went and it looks like they cleared some of many trees in the river that we saw back in late Feb of 2020. I picked some trash I saw out of the river and I think they should periodically go through and help make sure the river is in good shape. Still a good number of tree trunks and branches sticking out and just under the water. Paddle boarders beware.

Lol love the it's a little bit cold for FL standards. Us transplants from the Pacific love this temp🙂 The grass is really cool but does tend to freak people out the first time it touches them if they don't realize it's there. My poor sister about had a hard attack the first time she went in while visiting us. She thought it was a Gator 🤣 Aww you found the secret walk way! That is my favorite spot and goes for quite a ways down! In photos it doesn't even look like you are standing in water on a calm day. Snorkeling here is always amazing. There is another place right past here that is stunning you'll have to check out next time you visit.

Ok so from where you were at the secret passage way that you walked go upstream. Stay on the same side and just a few minutes paddling up. You'll see trees to can tie off too. A lot of bass hang out in that area it's beautiful and I thinks gets to about 20-25 ft right past that is the area to jump off the tree.

Yes KP Hole or you can launch from the campground which is about a 3 min paddle upstream from KP Hole. You can also rent from several places in town and launch from Blue Run which is almost to the bottle then Kayak up. Isn't a hard paddle up at all. KP is the best is you want to rent and launch. Puts you pretty close to the middle so if you go to the left you can get up to the Head Springs or if you go to the right you'll get down to Blue Run. When you come grab a bite from Swampy's sits right on the river before the bridge.
