I love ebay for homeschool items!!!

Fellow Georgian here. McKay’s in Chattanooga has some homeschool curriculum sales. I’m talking $4.00 and $5.00 for some really good stuff.

You are SO WISE to just stick with what is working for your daughter for math. Denison is what everyone (it seems) is switching to these days, but I live by "if it's not broken, don't fix it"!!!! I am supplementing Masterbooks math with Math U See. I am loving MUS, too.

I am behind. I will look up Denison. I remember when Masterbooks was the best thing ever a few years ago. People jumped on the gravy train and a lot tell me now that their kid is behind. I am personally using a super old curriculum now. (Strayer Upton). I tried Learn Math Fast but realized that it isn’t that amazing for us.

We LOVE Math with Confidence!!

We were on that same Math boat 😂. I also decide to stick with MUS Pre-Algebra for the same reasons. However when we get to Algebra we may switch to Denison 🤷🏽‍♀️. When I go to Ollie’s I have a cash ONLY policy which helps me decide on what I really need because I could buy ALL the books!!

Brittany! You've convinced me to try Math U See with my oldest (he's 11). I joined a couple of MUS groups on FB and asked this question and got no answers - so I'm hoping maybe you can help. If I buy the curriculum set that has the virtual pack (which supposedly comes with virtual manipulatives) do I need that big manipulative kit? Does your daughter use it?

The Alyssa Milano Hope series are amazing I found all of them at Ollie’s! highly recommend those I saw the Turn the Tide book today lol I’ll go back and get the it for my kiddo! Oh gosh I have soooo many books from Ollie’s DK, Kingfisher, their workbooks great middle grade readers, I just got the two science and history word search and sticker books today!! Definitely keep going back lol you will definitely find some really good books and the whole store is great lol!! If you see it, get it lol sometimes they won’t have it the store again if you go back looking for that item!!! Yay! Happy for you sis!

We have done multiple TinkerActive books and love them! We actually finished them all and my daughter is so sad

I am glad that you finally found the math curriculum. I thought I found mine with Learn Math Fast but then we hit a roadblock. I went back to my Strayer Upton books. I don’t know what we will do when we are older but my 9 year old has a lot more confidence now and that is all that matters. If I am realistic I don’t think she will hit high levels for math in the future and probably won’t need it anyway. God will show us when we get there.

I totally agree. If it aint broke don’t fix it! ❤ I am going to have to try the Preschool Math at Home. My little guy has been asking for “his Math time” after I work with my fourth grade daughter. 😂 So cute. 🥰

I've been thinking of switching my 5th grade daughter to MUS. We've gone through a crazy math saga with my 5 children as well... She's struggling a bit with division, but I worry about her being behind if I go back that far

I ordered MUS Pre on Monday hit 2nd Charles for books also.🙂

WOAH!!!!! I'm heading to rainbow resources!!! So awesome. My son finished his k math as well and i have been in limbo since November! I was reluctant because he's newly 5. But he is ready for more!!! This is great. I jave not heard of rainbow resources

@brittanyolga I snagged dimensions 2 from marketplace. I have been eyeing MUS for a long time, but couldn't swing that expense. Watching you deal hunt makes me think I don't have to compromise quality content for price. I really appreciate you sharing!!!

Have you looked at teaching textbooks pre-algebra?

I have not looked into Teaching Textbooks for math because my daughter prefer a math program with pencil and paper and not all online at this point. Also from some review I seen online for the upper levels of their program it is not as solid as other math programs out there.
