Fellow Mexican here and I knew from the moment I saw her that I was going to love her. Because she is representation. I’m so stoked that we get an absolutely stunning doll. I’m glad so many people are hating on her just means I’ll be able to get my hands on her before she’s completely gone!

I am actually glad that Maria dug deep into her Hispanic root as an inspiration for her costume. After all, she is a Rainbow High student, so her stylings were not going to be pedestrian.

Price point and controversy aside, this doll is absolutely stunning!!! I do have one of the Dia de Muertos Barbies and she’s really pretty but the quality doesn’t compare. This doll is worth more as far as I’m concerned. I’m so happy you shared her with us❤️

As a Mexican in America, my only hope is that at the very least some proceedings go to into our community that are exploited, profiting off of us. Representation matters, but I hope Americans learn to someway admire and respect The People that make up the culture they profit off of by exploiting it.

I understand the thrill of a new doll. The dress is killer!!! Because the Sombrero is fabric I would have liked to see the roses in a high quality fabric rather than plastic, but thats not a big deal. The price isn't justified in my opinion, but they know with true collector, money is not an issue. I ďont know what the politics are surrounding Maria, I say give her a break, she's only human after all. Good on you Angel, glad you shared, It was fun hearing your excitement. Now take off the crown for us!

I cannot believe that this Day of the Dead doll is $140+! I wasn't really vibing with her but I still wanted to dye her hair black but omg no thank you. Seeing the box art and deluxe desigh makes me wish it was a two pack. Imagine if they had a boy doll with that style and hat! A couple set would be more reasonable with it's price. P.s I'm just glad there is some representation of Mexican culture because we hardly get any

She's the first doll I'll be putting on display! I just picked her up a year later for only 35 USD!

I'm Asian but think this doll is cool and I love the purple hair and spike crown!!! The barbie one looks a little too realistic to me. I like it when dolls and art add some creativity to the mix!

She is absolutely gorgeous, and that box art is insane.

The price and the controversies make the decision of getting her more difficult, but I still like the doll and the package looks incredible to me. Can't wait to purchase her!

Ok so my opinion on her is that if RH tried to represent el día de Los muertos in her Wrong Wrong bc there’s no color or marigolds in her outfit, but in the celebration you can see people dressed like her so yuh and she is a GORGEOUS doll and she has the best box I’ve ever seen but the problem is her price, I rlly want her but the price👹👹👹

I think she should’ve gotten red hair not purple The purple just looks a bit random but that’s just me she still is a beautiful doll that I will not be able to afford because I can’t afford that shit

I don’t know if it’s just me, but the fact that her name is Maria Garcia feels kind of rushed. I don’t know how to explain but most of the other Rainbow High Dolls have names that match either their color or theme. Violet, the purple doll or Daria Roselyn, the rose doll. Luna and Sunny because they’re opposites and twins. Even Lily, had lilies on her dress. Giving her even the last name Rosa or naming her Rosita would fit better in my opinion. I commented on a different video that imagine if they named River something like John Smith. It gives that vibe. 😭

There can be issues with face paint flaws, but, after finally getting a flawless doll I’m losing my mind!! She’s totally worth the price! The box is a permanent display and with a protective cover, omg! And the lights? I’ve collected dolls since the early 80s, both antiques and contemporary. This doll is epic.

She's beautiful. The Disney Collector Princess dolls are $130 and people buy them and they are nowhere as pretty as Maria.

I love this doll I just discovered her last month okay full disclosure I discovered rainbow high last month because of my niece. We are South Americans not Mexican but I love love love this doll!

After tax and shipping, she’s $140 for me at Walmart. Now years ago, like the 1990s, there were Barbies that were as much as $300 BACK THEN, and NOWHERE NEAR the DETAILS or quality!! I love her! The artistry is killer. That’s the thing. This is art.

I don’t like her and I find the incorrect representation insulting. But I’m not mad if someone else likes her lol, how stupid is that? If you enjoy her then I’m glad she brings you joy ❤️

I want to like her! There’s just details that I wish we’re done differently, and not culturally I have no place to say. More like the body suit under a beautiful dress like that, the purple and red kind of clash for me, and the shape of the eye makeup. However, I am so happy others love it because that’s what doll collecting is all about! We all have the choice to buy her or not.

honestly i despised her- i despised her leaks, and basically everything about her. i though she was BUMMY ! but after watching your review i've never needed a doll more in my life- she's sooooo insanely goodt ! the only thing i'd change about her is if her dress was a bit more mexican inspired. but it's still gorgeous, and i'm failing to see how i hated her before- she's AMAZING !! the thing i hate most about her is her price- maybe i'll wait for a cute sale tho :3 or if she happens to be in stores i can always shopli- i mean.. ask for a discount at the register ^w^ ✨🏃🏻‍♂️

I bumped into the sale and got her. I'm so happy to have her in my collection. Her box representation takes my breath away. The doll is such a beauty for $71 with tax. But overall, she is a beauty. I'm so glad to have her. Thanks to the people who said they hated her. The people who couldn't afford her were able to obtain her, thank you. She is breathtaking. I adore her, thanks, mga.

I think she has the Lily mold bc of her eye shape.

Time and time again I keep on saying American doll collectors are so freaking lucky, as an international doll collector I still can't even get my hands on series one of Rainbow High also we're seeing how many releases are happening or upcoming plus some are going to be exclusively available at Walmart. I'm aware of purchasing from Amazon but when it comes to quality control, alongside currency conversion I'd rather see the dolls in person so I can inspect and purchase them that way. Until they're not so rare and all available in stores, I suffer. 😭

God Dammit MGA! I swear at the utter proliphic rate in which they release gorgeous dolls they are going to have to start opening shelters for those of us with landlords who for SOME reason won't except old mismatched doll shoes and bodies, XMen boylove fanart(no matter how hard you try to convince them that it's totally what an NFT is) and/or empty bottles of cheap wine as payment for rent because MGA HAS ALL MAH DOLLARS Y'ALL.

I honestly are completist with my Rainbow/Shadow high doll collection along with 2 each dolls being displayed with 1st and 2nd outfits, plus finding others from thrift store or flea markets, I customize them. So, this time I will break being completist for not ordering this doll. I have some reserved feelings concerning about this doll…So it’s best for me not explaining why.

She's gorgeous but oof that price tag. I missed out on the Skellita Dia de Los Muertos LE and am tempted with this one but I don't know if I could justify her at that price . ..

I think she is really pretty and just wish she had a more cohesive color scheme. I think that she would have looked great in a purple/black dress with black roses in her hair instead of the red I know that the black roses aren't necessarily what she would have actually worn for Dia de Muertos, I just think it would be pretty. As to the controversy, I can understand it and feel that everyone has to make their own choice as to getting her or not. Great video ;)

I just really question their color theme choice for her. If it was red or purple why not make them closer in shade? Not to mention they knew to put a marigold on the box, but didn't utilize actual marigolds in the doll.

I finally bought her today on Walmart website. She's fairly expensive. x_x The goal is to keep her in tack with ribbon on. 🎗️🎀 I'm usually both in box and out of box collector depending on the item..with this I'm hoping to keep her pristine. Next will be a few of the costume dolls. I have only so far pre ordered the fairy doll. There's 2 others I hope to get and want to keep them in box. It's just too costly to keep up with buying. I'm trying to pick and choose and be better. It's hard.

_"Well then buy the barbie doll"_ I myself have made the comparison between this doll and Barbie's take on a Dia de Muertos doll and I've done just make the point that in terms of representation is disappointing to an extent, hell, even mexican people don't get 100% "culturally accurate" costumes for this type of celebration, but even if this doll was just _inspired_ by Dia de Muertos having Lily as a good example of how to embody a national celebration in doll form, with this doll I expected a little more, especially for the price... $140? Jesus Christ... As a mexican I don't judge people for liking this doll, she has some aspects I really like, the sombrero has realy good quality, the rose ornament is really cool it kinda gives me vibes of La Virgen de Guadalupe with the "golden rays" behind her head haha (and yes, roses are fine to be used as decoration for Dia de Muertos, like, chill people, marygolds are not the end of all), the dress even tho it's not "accurate" to traditional mexican is still cute. I guess that I just expected her execution to be a little bit better, 'case like, girl, her face painting is cute but the fact that the paint doesn't cover her eyebrows is DREADFUL. But yeah, as you said, if you don't like it, don't get it, period There'll be more dolls for people that actually like her haha

I'm seeing some comments saying that any representation is appreciated. But when representation isn't done correctly it feels passive and pandering to the culture they're profiting from. Yes she's visually stunning. But it's not giving authenticity one would hope for. A disappointing doll, especially for the price point

Nothing is going to be exactly as we want I think and either way I'm buying the doll. I get people being upset over the cultural stuff but again it's a choice to buy it or not.
