Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow were fantastic at Birmingham last year as they were last night as well. Big thanks to Candice who must take a lot of the credit for inspiring Ritchie's continued playing in both Blackmore's NIght and Rainbow. Thanks to all concerned.

Ritchie Blackmore. Nothing more to say. In a helthy world he is among Bach Bethowen Mozart. He really is THE soundtrack of My life.

Wished they would come to America. His heart is into his acustic now a days and he is absolutely perfect on this tribute. 72 years old and alot of my hard rocking friends from the Seventies don't jam like they used to. But me am going to be buried listening to my Purple and Rainbow.

Wow! Ritchie is showing his versitality. And you can tell he misses Jon because I think Lord was one of the few people that understood him and they respected each other and when they sat in a room full of people they we're the smart guy's in the room.

Emotive playing from Ritchie Blackmore. He's still got the touch! Tribute song to his ex band mate and co-founder of Deep Purple the late Jon Lord.

Great moment of the Birmingham night. Stunning and inspired Ritchie. Unpredictable, as usual. Love forever your moody guitar feeling!
This really made me sad and happy to see that ritchie is acknowledging his old bandmates like dio and jon lord of course. This is my favorite Instrumental and to hear it live and see how passionate ritchie blackmores guitar playing is. It's amazing to see and I hope ritchie blackmore ends his career as a rock artist and continues the tours yearly

just amazing!. I was there last night - and this was a beautifully played tribute to Jon Lord and surprise addition to the set. Having seen Rainbow [21st century version] - @ the Genting Arena last year and yesterday - I hope Ritchie decides to continue this project. great great night! inclusion of All Night Long & I Surrender replacing the "tired" Highway Star was a clever move. Come back to Brum again soon Mr Blackmore!

well [IMO] it kind of is dying a slowww painful death. Even Deep Karaoke no longer use it as a set opener. but let's agree to disagree. I'd say the "other" Purp's songs in the Rainbow set sound fresher and more relevant. Even MkIII never did "Burn" with the snarl, grit and aggression that Rainbow managed at both NEC gigs

Deep Purple opened up with Highway Star almost all of their career. This song has endless energy. And what else songs were fresh?? No one needs Child in Time, Perfect Strangers can be done better... And on Burn... there are tons of better versions out there than the NEC versions... Even from the 90´s Rainbow times. I´m an all time die hard fan, but in Burn even the Riff is not the way it has to be.

But "THEY" don't open with it these days - as i said [IMO] it's tired. and the emphasis is it's "my opinion" hence the "IMO" - you on the other hand are implying what you're saying is fact. it isn't - all opinions - you're included - are subjective.

This drives me completely batshit crazy, and demonstrates a complete lack of respect and dignity. They ruined Ritchie's emotional performance with their noise.

"Carry On Jon" reminds me of a Gary Moore's instrumental song called "The Loner", which is also goose-fleshy, for expressing the condition of solitude.

I am Ritchie's biggest fan but this song was at best inspired by The Loner ( Gary Moore) and probably in a court of law could be disected by a barrister to prove it was nicked !!! Nice one Blackers -nothing is original in music Ritchie at 70 years of age can still play like God and to many of us he will always be the best guitarist of his generation To mention Jimmy Page and Pete Townsend as better players makes me laugh - Ritchie has always had far greater touch , speed and general technique

methinks he doth protest too much... the melody is a total cop from Moore, but seems heartfelt.
