[OLD] [Rain World: Downpour] Hunter 100% Run

Ойындар

Rain World is an excellent atmospheric platformer that really makes you feel like an animal struggling to survive in a hostile, unfamiliar world. Everyone always insists you should best experience it blind so if that's something you care about and you haven't played the game, close the video or close your eyes I guess. I strongly recommend the game, though if you bounce off it due to struggling to understand mechanics or getting too lost I'd recommend spoiling yourself just a little as needed just so you can get into the game and experience it.
The goal of this 100% run was to get all "Passages" which are basically achievements that can be earned for each separate run, as well as all story objectives. Fun fact, this was recorded the day after I thought I succeeded at that goal, but I accidentally missed an optional story objective entirely and had to redo the run. This is loosely based on a Hunter 100% speedrun route, but isn't fast/polished enough where I'd call it a speedrun itself. The priority was just on clearing the run at all, rather than particularly trying to go fast.
This was an interesting challenge, as while it's not critical to not die at all, its really quite bad if you die while trying to complete certain passages as they lose progress, and that effectively meant that if I died at any point in the first hour I had to reset. So, while the bulk of the challenge was in finding and learning a good route (while being flexible enough to adapt when it went wrong), a fairly high level of execution was needed to ensure that plans didn't go too poorly. Hunter is a unique character since he actually has a cycle limit, so if you mess up too much it becomes impossible to fit all the things you need to do into your run without running out of cycles (at which point you get massively debuffed and any death is final).
Almost everything went according to plan on this run except:
1. I forgot how slugpup spawning worked and rested one time too many, so needed to rely on a random spawn
2. I forgot to go to the echo in Shaded Citadel and had to backtrack a fairly long ways to get it.
3. Deaths (thankfully none in super critical moments)
4. Scavengers stole my vulture mask (twice!)
Thanks a bunch to ‪@VallyPally‬ for being very helpful with tips that helped refine the rough route plan, I ultimately ended up accidentally messing up the slugpup force method but did utilize the method for The Friend passage.
Rain World is on Steam here, and I highly recommend it:

Downpour is a large DLC containing a bunch of cool content, and is on Steam here:
