;-) Can you imagine how much worse it could have been on a different bike? CHEERS from Kansas City.

It's from Touratech, it was already mounted when I got the bike. I've never seen it for sale actually, maybe they just made a small batch back in the days.

It wasn't a motorcycle you needed, it was a boat. I'm guessing water had entered the exhaust sensor or Plugs were soaked. Hope you got it sorted.

It turned out to be a general electrical malfunction. The water probably ended up somewhere it shouldn't have come, but fortunately not inside the engine. Dealer mainly looked into ABS sensor errors they found. When I explained the situation once more they couldn't find anything regarding oil pressure, did a test drive and after that essentially gave up looking. The errors shown in this video apparently didn't even get logged right. Have ridden approx. 1600 km/1000 miles since the incident and haven't had any issues yet.

@@darknessawaitsOne more video which makes my decision not to buy BMW is out there. I had various Touring ST1100 and ST1300 and was riding on rain for hours and never had such issue...Germans engineering at it's best😂

@@The_Touring_Jedi well… rained on or driven through 30 cm of water (a feet?) for an extended time are quite different things. It hasn’t let me down since, and the only thing really wrong with it was that is that it was showing me the warning light. Probably a temporary short somewhere. Can’t really blame any motorcycle or brand for anything, but if this video made you confirm your beliefs; also fine.

@@The_Touring_JediI’ll take a faulty sensor display in a 100 year rain storm over 3rd degree burns on my legs while riding a ST in the summer. Give me a break, every bike has a negative. Honda’s have rectifier issues. My Honda left me stranded on the side of the I-10. Cost $200 for a tow truck to get me home 90 miles away. Try one, you might like it.

The name of a BMW after 2001 is more reliable than the bike itself. Too much electronic devices, sensors and stuff that can break a pleasant ride. Riding BMW's since 1985 from K75, R80, R1000RT, R850RT, R1100RT, R1150RT en now the 2010 DOHC R1200RT. ABS 2003-2007 not reliable and too expensive to repair. Best bike when its riding...Thats why I still have a BMW in the garage and a Triumph when the BMW has any failure.

Bike was running whats the issue, you turned it off when it was running. Happened once on my 2009 riding all day in massive rain. Never happened again. Honda, reallly. Honda is under engineered bikes. Not even on the same level as an RT

It was running, but was also showing to have issues. Turned it off, tried to diagnose it to no avail and rode another 50 km. Warnings came back. Eventually got it deliver to the dealer, who could only find ABS error codes whilst nothing appeared to be wrong with the ABS system. Electrical gremlins it seemed, which went away when all rainwater had evaporated. So that’s the full story, I don’t know what your deal with Honda is however.

@@darknessawaits I had the exact same issue after a serious rain ride for hours. It was very strange and never occurred again. I think it was a ground issue or a CANBUS issue. Check all your brown wire ground connections for corrosion. A leaky CANBUS connector could have temporarily shorted with rain then with the engine heat evaporated the moisture. Hard to find.

Well yes, perfect example of BMW being awful. Nothing to do with the excess of water… I’m no fanboy, but this could’ve happened on any brand.
