    Love the positive comments. Surf ranch is roughly $6000/day. So, maybe $1000 dollars per wave or so. This place isn’t aloha. It’s in the hot and dusty Central Valley and for the, let’s say, very wealthy, it’s a novelty… most don’t want to spend the time to learn to surf. They want to be good right away because that’s the way they live. Need things NOW! Surfing isn’t like that. Takes a lifetime to learn. Ok bye!

    It just seems to be a natural born human trait to see somebody do something awesome and think I want to do that, I can do that, I want to see if I can do that without being shown how. It's like these kids just assume things are easy. I was never like that I always understood that something was gonna be difficult and take a lot of practice and henceforth I was always willing to be coached.

And instead of being grateful. They're getting big headed and are literally taking those gestures to think they can take a man's power away instead. I caught on to that. It's definitely not about equal pay anymore.

    Catching a real wave in the ocean is a whole different ball game than being guided into and lifted up onto a perpetual wave. When you're first starting out, the whole thing lasts about 2 seconds from catching the wave to face plant. Working its way up finally to maybe 5 seconds before the wave closes out.

  • @lukewise1227

    @lukewise1227

    @@doormasterjohn Dude! At 7 yrs old I had a GT striped polystyrene surfboard, with a big rubber fin, that cost me $5 in pocket money. I paddled out the back and rode the wave all the way to shore until I stepped off onto the sand every time. Then I worked my way onto riding the face of the wave, then a real surfboard, then real manoeuvres like the guys in the movies. Because back in the day this was how it was done. Even in my late teens, if the surf was just monster close outs, I dragged out the 'foamie' from under the house and went for 'Kamikaze barrels' lying down. Speak for yourself about 1 second waves, to me they were endless. I've ridden sandy bottomed point breaks in Australia where the waves were so long, my legs were feeling fatigued at the end of each wave from the energy used in all the re-entries and cut-backs. The beauty of the Goat's ranch is that you don't have to wait for the break to start working, it's there same as always, everyday. Just like the perfect wave at Cape St. Francis in 'Endless Summer' (Yup, I'm that old).

    Because it's a wave pool...it'd be way harder/practically impossible to do this kind of training in the real world. They are using that wave machine sled thing in California that creates a very uniform wave that travels a very long distance that's ideal for this kind of training. It's that train thing in the background that is pushing the water along. That's why they have so much time and such a smooth ride. Real waves are way to unpredictable too do this kind of board to board coaching.

    @@lollygagger9571 There's a few of them but I'm pretty sure this is Surf Ranch in California. Kelly Slater and a few other pro surfers built it as a training center. It's basically just a long, man made canal that they ram a train with a scoop on the front into. It creates a perfect tube wave that travels for almost half a mile.
