Excellent footage there Brian. I miss the days when the 47s, 86s, 87s, 90s & HSTs were operating inter-city expresses & the likes of 37s, 47s, 56s, 86s & 90s were running either light engine or on freight workings, which I remember during my childhood days. Such a wide variety back then compared to today.

HI Bob ,camera work has got better over the years ,most filmed using a tripod which definateley has proved itself ,compared to a lot of clips you see on you tube lateley regards Brian

I went there as of today because of railtours one at the top to derby and the other towards Crewe Brian

Not many filmed on the up low level platform but it makes a pleasant change......87 city here on this dull day. Great class 56 thrash on the high level and just so busy. Loved that station back in the BR days. WCML no longer has any attraction for me now. Much traffic now gone too.....a fraction of the overnight sleeper traffic very little post office traffic no newspapers no motorails no adexs no reliefs no 310 304 emus no roarers........

Next to nothing but 66s today!

Platform 2 has since been extended at the north end, and cut at this end.

Such a shame to see that the Class 86s and 87s have been scrapped or sold to other countries.

3:07 that was a very slooooooow class 37

these were the days, so much diesel variety. the railway of today is so boring!!!
