Railways. British Railways AC electrics at Rugeley and Great Bridgeford 2001
Filmed 16/08/2001 at Rugeley Trent Valley and the top of a pile of ballast at Great Bridgeford Staffordshire we see a procession of class 86/87/90 AC electrics run by mingled with diesel classes and only one class 66.No Voyagers or Pendolinos.

Another great film from your collection. I have missed out on Rugeley - never realised it was such a good photographic location. IO especially liked the distant zoom shots, which really accentuated the 'tunnel' effect of the catenary - makes for good framing of the train. I am also amazed at how 'lively' the ride was over the track and curves there! Just goes to show how good the Mk3 coach was for the comfort and stability of its ride. Thanks for taking the time to produce and share this film - much appreciated.

Superb, I used to enjoy watching the 86/87’s fly along. My parents live right next to the west coast mainline in Tamworth so I never had to go far to watch the trains

actually theres a class 60 and the class 66 brian because I saw the class 60 passing through rugeley trent valley
Race 5:47! The nearer one was leading by a short head, but I think one on the inside was catching it!
When the West Coast main line had proper trains......
