The San Diego area is a great area for train watching. Downtown San Diego Santa Fe Amtrak Depot you can watch the Pacific Surfliners that Amtrak runs between San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara & San Luis Opisbo, the Coaster Commuter trains, the Green, Orange & UC San Diego Blue Line Trolleys and even some BNSF freights. In Oceanside there's the Sprinter shuttle, Metrolink & Coaster Commuter trains, Amtrak's Pacific Surfliners & BNSF freights.

Hehe I remember around Chicago's Union Station, the Amtrak and Metra engineers would lay on the horns and bells all the way to the entry to the station. Would piss off the residents in the area, but for rail fans, it was a blessing!

Railfan502 NCTD choked all their cabs horns due to FRA horn volume regulations. Same with 2105 and 2104.

Railfan502 they choked the horn. The #2 bell wasnt sounding. Over time, the horn kinda called quits and it was fouled pretty bad. I think it has a K5HL. I could be wrong tho.

What is it called (What is the term) when they only play half of the notes of the K5LA. Example: 1:32, 2:25, 3:10, 5:53are just a couple examples.

Not quite but both Cabcars did wear the same kind of K5LA. 501 wears a 1987 Holden Doubletag K5LA, and in this video #2306 wears a 1994 Holden Doubletag K5LA.
