Railfanning Ontario - Dawn to Dusk at Bayview Junction
On Monday July 19, we headed back to the Canadian border to to check out one of the most popular railfanning locations in eastern Canada. Bayview Jct is the junction between the CN Oakville, Dundas and Grimsby Subs with a connecting track often referred to as the cow path. Along the west side of the junction is the CP Hamilton Sub. In the video we see plenty of GO, VIA and CN action as well as two CP freights spanning from dawn until dusk.

Railfanning in 2015 was insane. Dash 8s were common, there were bc rails and blue devils, gmd-1s, and even soo Line sd60s. That was truly a great time for railfanning on cn. Amazing video.
Very wonderfull video.
What a marathon effort, that was really good, Thanks from Melbourne Australia
Nicely edited. Not just boring run bys of the whole train from one vantage point. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent Video, Very clear and Sharp images, Thanks For Sharing.

Thanks for this! Nice to see CN2457 ‘Blue Devil’. Since my comment is way later than your video I wonder if all the Blue Devils have been painted now -
Thank you

Nice catches!
(8:35) I'm not just thinking to you about this. An eastbound CN mixed freight came in led by that CN Dash 8 which still wears the "Blue Devil" paint scheme (ex-LMS). That's a RARE catch I love to look for now! :)
SO that's where my beloved Soo Line Red and whites have gone. At least the two bridges still have "SOO LINE" boldly printed on the Sides. Well, Not exactly, as the paint has faded and the rust hast taken over.
Thank you for sharing this interesting video, I really appreciate it! - Roger Riblett

The engineer's don't wave from the trains anymore, not like they back in 1954.
Very awesome video. It is so well put together and the quality is great....how many spare camera batteries do you have??! haha Thank you for uploading!
You are getting several horn salutes. I'm surprised you don't mention them

Railroads Featured: CN VIA GO Transit CP SOO NS
Did I detect a Canadian accent from that defect detector?
what is the name of the town this is in?
If CP is travelling near Bayview Junction, most of these CP trains must contain any helpers at the end. CP Trackage on CN Bayview Junction must support those CP helpers on their tail. Just like how NS does on the NS Pittsburgh Subdivision.
Very Nice greetz from Nederland

Wish they would bring passengers to the Casino in Niagara Falls by rail from Toronto through CP Montrose Sub which runs right up to the Casino Doors almost with a short walk of maybe half a block?? It would take Cars off the QEW Highway and allow people to have a few drinks without worry of Driving back to Toronto??

That would be a good idea, But expensive, as CP would have to put more signals for either GO or VIA along the Hamilton and Montrose Sub, Not to mention I bet the people of Welland and other towns along the line would want their own station as well. So maybe one day, But then again. It'd be very hard to do. But I like your idea none the less.

To ensure CP's Montrose Subdivision, the casino is what I can effort on. So we ensure what's happening at Niagara Falls ⇒ casino. We don't want it. Sorry, folks! A train race was going on that day. Between CN and CP trains, the 2nd train has ethanol tanks west. Nope, because I was not saying...Norfolk Southern is like CSXT. Yup!

Nice obe
15:37 Does NS actually run on Bayview junction or was that just something that happens sometimes? Edit: Nice video, I liked the old GO Cab Car, and the horn show, and the NS.

No NS doesn't run in Bayview or anywhere in Canada.
I didnt know that Amtrak runs in Ontario Canada. What kind of Amtrak trains were they? I like the scenery and i love the CN trains too!

It’s called the Maple Leaf and runs from Toronto to New York. From Toronto to Niagara Falls, it is operated as a VIA train and an Amtrak crew takes over in the US.

Regan Rickson there's a few left. Used to be Conrail / LMS units. CN owns a few and there nicknamed "Blue Devils" unfortunately I believe there being repainted eventually so they won't be around to much longer
