Patriots made the playoffs and Mac Jones made the pro bowl with McDaniels as OC and QB coach in 2021. I’d take him back… probably not as HC but in some offensive coaching role.

It's worth noting that after the Dolphins fired Philbin in 2015, they made Dan Campbell their interim head coach. A lot of Miami fans were hoping we stuck with him going forward because we saw all the same things we're seeing now in Detroit.

Out of curiosity, I Googled George Allen (it was super hard, I guess that's why no one on the show did it). George Allen coached Washington from 1970 - 1977, including a trip to the 1972 Super Bowl where they faced the undefeated Miami Dolphins. In 1978 he left Washington after spending the entire 1977 season refusing a new contract; he returned to the Los Angeles Rams for the third time in his coaching career, but was fired from Los Angeles during the 1978 pre-season because younger players did not mesh with his extremely disciplined coaching style. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.

George Allen coached the LA rams from 1966 to 1970, coached the Washington Redskins 1971 to 1977 with a record of 116-47-5 he made a brief return to LA as coach in 1978,but was fired before the regular season. He is in the pro Football Hall of Fame, inducted in 2002

It was the Rams that fired George Allen after two preseason games, not the Washington Redacted. He coached 7 full seasons with Washington. And was head coach of the Rams for a few years before that (the Rams firing him during preseason was his second stint there as HC)

You put any coach on Arizona they will lose football games. Any coach. This Raiders team is poorly coached, and not remotely any fun to watch if you are a fan of them. Raiders fan here, we're seriously pulling for him as well. Unfortunately McDaniels has left him a lot of problems which won't be turned around this season, and given that our last interim HC took us to the playoffs and then got shat on by Davis I don't see Pierce still being our HC next year. One thing I do see, though, is Pierce's leadership and the effect it's already having on the players and fans. He and the team aren't going to stop trying until the clock hits 00:00 in the season's last game. If Davis does crap on the dude I think Pierce could do a lot worse than reunite with the Giants., you guys could do with him.

Since 2010, the Raiders have had eight head coaches (2 interim). That’s a new head coach roughly every 1.75 years. That’s not a way to be successful in any sport let alone the NFL.

We had a superbowl run if bissacia would've been hired as coach after picking up gruden pieces. Players loved him, fans loved him. We lost playoff game to Bengals but still loved how we ended and looked forward to next year. Anddddd mcdaniels came. Every fan heart dropped. Worst decision ever.

lol we never had a super bowl run with Carr at QB. I liked Bissacia but that year we were outscored by 70 points. When that happens you almost never make the playoffs. We played against teams with 2nd string QBs and got lucky to win a ton of very close games. We need a all pro QB if we are ever going deep in the playoffs. Carr was an average QB for us just about every year and he is an average qb according to every stat in New Orleans.

It’s not much of a rebuild, we have key players at positions, depending on what AOC does, we will likely need a QB possibly, build around the rest of the team. Defense is playing much improved as well.

That coaching graphic was wrong. George Allen was fired 2 preseason games into 1978 when he coached The Rams. He coached the Redskins from 1971-1977 and was relieved of his duties in January 1978. When he got the Rams job, his old school style didn't mesh well with players and he was fired that August.

Also need to include Bill O'Brien and Dan Quinn, who got fired in 2020 after 4 and 5 games, respectively
