The tower attack priorities can be unintuitive, but they are not at all unpredictable. If you take a look at this you can easily remember and understand the priority listing. Furthermore, towers are equipped with backdoor protection, which means they are practically indestructible without creeps accompanying the hero nearby. This generally means that you will also have vision and foresee the attack. Try searching for Towers at Dota 2 Wiki--they have very good documentation.

I don't like who pretty much all gyros in pro matches go for Aquila, drums AND stats. If you're getting stats already, why the hell do they get more early game stuff? It's kinda pointless, at least for me.

Definitely one of the most epic games I've ever seen. Too bad you didn't show NS raging in lobby after the match!

This is not a new thing. 8-9 years ago when there was no backdoor protection yet,,this strat is called the hans2 base rush. Furion or Clinkz, directly attacking tier 4's and smashing the base in 10 mins.

Fair enough. I consider it trash because it never appears to have any set parameters for what hero it attacks. Of course, the person that right-clicks an enemy hero gets attacked, however from my experience that only happens two-thirds of the time. Sometimes it will attack the closest unit, sometimes it will attack me despite me not being the closest unit by quite a margin. Hence why I consider it fairly trashy. What I ment was, preserving something for the sake of preserving it, is bad design

It's closer to microing 5 High Templar at once, and if a single one dies you lose.

Hm....if Gyro had BoT he might have been able to tp back and change the course of the game. That was a really uphill battle though. NP + Meepo is really frustrating to defend against because they are constantly pushing your lanes.

You can't blame it though. N0tail had a game-disrupting bug that made his hero more much difficult to use so one of their only two heroes who are damaging is heavily disabled. Since they knew they probably can't win in a straight up fight they may else well take the backdoor method. Then again NS was being such an asshole so VP probably deserved it.

As is preserving tower AI from WC3, preserving stupid tactics like backdooring in such a manner just because, as you yourself said, it was like that in RoC DotA, is contrary to proper game design. You don't keep something for the sake of keeping it. Yes, backdooring can be a legitimate strategy, but the way it was demonstrated is not a display of skill nor tactics. Cheers.
