I did this jam too. Where is she?
WOW! I am totally digging Rahsaan's scene! I love that period of British pop (Swing Out Sister, Blow Monkeys, the Kane Gang, etc) and that slick production that they had, but let me tell ya, I love how he reworked the song and although it still has that slick sophistication that the original has, he definitely put his mark on it.

True words and this 2022, my first time hearing this version. Your summary is spot on my friend.
This track still gets me grooving, years later. Should definitely feature on my wedding tracklist👌

We'll do the step with this song 😆
First time Ive heard this.....I always considered myself a huge Rahsaan fan...Cant believe I let this one slip by me.. Love it though.
WHY this man is not bigger than he is, is beyond me...it's a damn shame somebody this talented isn't a superstar by now. smdh
Ive just been listening to the original on one of my playlists and remembered this one. I vaguely remember thinking it was better than the original- I remembered correctly.
This is brilliant never heard this version before ❤
AWESOME describes Rahsaan in the best way I can think of at the moment. He is so talented, oh so full of SOUL from deep down inside, just a God given GIFT!!!
Rahsaan can do no wrong!
WOW! I have all his CDs but never heard the one!! Thanks!!
One of my favorite jams....💥💥
That one song that only available on KZread only ❤😊
Remains a hit always
I'm not concerned with what Rahsaan does in personal life. I am 100% heterosexual and I'm digging his music! I dance to it in the club's, I dance to it with my woman and if she's here to dance with me. I turn the music up and dance with myself! Music is suppose to be about the vibe it gives you, the place's it takes you.
Wow, that cover just blew me away, thank you, Mr. Patterson.
Wow! Glad I stumbled on this cover...one of my fave songs back in '86. The Blow Monkeys would be delighted with this! Patterson didn't sway far from the original melody but, boy, oh boy, it oozes with jazzy soulfulness. Well done! Loved it! 🧡🧡🧡
@fetishalchemy You are in for hearing some serious music. Rahsaan Patterson is probably one of the BEST most TALENTED artist out here today. He is well known in the music industry amongst the great..such as Qunicy/Chaka Khan/David Foster. His voice changes depending on what he is singing. To me he is a combination of obviously Stevie/Chaka yes I said Chaka/Tevin Campbell ..big time/a little bit of Prince all wrapped up. Every and I mean every album (I'm from the old school) is outstanding
Great cover. Great voice. Black or White, Rahsaan or Robert, both vocal renditions are mesmerizing.
smooth and mellow love it
@fetishalchemy Sorry I'm lengthy in my message but I adore this artist. One last comment Rahsaan is a man who respects women. Listen to his writing. He has a song about women that are allowing themselves to be abused (the title of the song escapes me @ this time) it's so beautiful and loving to that cause. That song is on his 1st album. Also some of the proceeds of that album went towards supporting a women shelter in his hometown of HARLEM. Rahsaan Patterson you are underrated. Love
This song is on Rahsaan's second album, "Love in Stereo". Rahsaan is awesome!

love the original, but his is a sweet, soulful coverage with a little kick...nice original voice...
excelente version
2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a nice song.
Love this track
Love it!
Rahsaan Patterson ❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶
This song reminds of Mthobeli August AKA Kci❤
artiste génial !
Something to step to!
I've heard of Rhassan before but never knew he did a cover of this song-Interesting cover choice. More than a little Stevie Wonder in the high end of his voice but its well sung. I should go check out his other stuff and see what his own material sounds like.
love it
Monstruosamente bueno!!!!
Wow!
@fetishalchemy His 1st album is insane. There isn't a bad song on the album. One of his performance that I'm crazy about is "Stars". He does this song sooooooooooooooo well. His voice touches every cell in my body. Besides being a writer. Folks most of his work is ORIGINAL. Rahsaan is such an amazing WRITER...PRODUCER. Check out his music it is slamming from song to song. Whether he's singing a slow tune or groovin with his finger snapping that he loves to do the brotha is AMAZING!!!!
tight

Why this wasn’t included on the “domestic” release, I’ll never understand…🤦🏾♂️. Maintains the original integrity of the song, while bringing out the “groove”.😊

Oh yes Jim - like it - thanks for tipping me off Debz - brill sound :) ktf
Can someone tell me how many albums this brilliant artist has brought out to date and can I still get them as I REALLY REALLY REALLY need the Rashaan Patterson fix
Cheeeers...Mate
I'm here to cleanse my soul
I agree that he is a VERY talented artist and it's a damn shame that he is not bigger than what he is. The real reason is that being that he is an openly gay artist, most men feel that the affection of his music is towards a man and if it doesn't come from heterosexual place then it won't be something that they would buy or even listen too. As for the women, they also feel as though they are not the object of affection in his music therefore it doesn't speak to them.

2710Pocahontas I respectfully disagree. Love is universal, and Rahsaan is a classy artist. The music he makes will apply to heterosexual or homosexual relationships. When a person listens to a love song or even a sexual song the lyrics will be applicable to the object of their affection. I’m a heterosexual man and Raheem’s sexuality doesn’t bother me one bit. I get lost in the music, and again, Raheem is a poetic writer, so he doesn’t write any overtly homosexual lyrics. Raheem should be bigger, but I don’t think it’s due to his sexuality. Some artists just unfortunately don’t break out like they should. Raheem DeVaughn, Marsha Ambrosius, Jazmine Sullivan are just a few of many artists who are extremely talented, and yet underrated. It happens.
Please Jim do not label this as "Modern Northern Soul" It is not. It's New Soul. Why do northern souler's have to always label things they like as their own. Please respect music for what it is.
