The Refused & At the Drive-In to name a couple off the top of my head. The 90's was a great time for progressive music in general, hip-hop and metal/hardcore in particular. People were doing stuff that had never really been seen before, as the boundaries of the 'norm' really started to be broken down.

I went to see Rollins Band at The Fast Lane in asbury Park New Jersey in 92. We were early for the show. The crowd is getting amped right before the show. The last song the DJ played before the show was this obscure funk base angry beat that I never heard. I hustled down to the Dj to find out who the artist was. Bombtrack. Ratm. I went and bought the vinyl the next day. Still have it.

I know I'm late but the first time I heard this song was in 2020 and I thought it was a brand new song. Took me a while to find it. Then I learned it came out when I was 1 year old and I'm amazed. This song was way ahead of its time.

I first heard killin in the name by them which got me hooked… but this probably would’ve got me hooked too
My dad just recently had a stroke and RATM is one of his favorite bands. And this song had him bobbing his head and having a good time. And that meant everything even if only for a moment. I am grateful for the healing power of music.

The Refused & At the Drive-In to name a couple off the top of my head. The 90's was a great time for progressive music in general, hip-hop and metal/hardcore in particular. People were doing stuff that had never really been seen before, as the boundaries of the 'norm' really started to be broken down.

I went to see Rollins Band at The Fast Lane in asbury Park New Jersey in 92. We were early for the show. The crowd is getting amped right before the show. The last song the DJ played before the show was this obscure funk base angry beat that I never heard. I hustled down to the Dj to find out who the artist was. Bombtrack. Ratm. I went and bought the vinyl the next day. Still have it.

When you lived through the 90's you didn't realise how cool stuff like ratm, limp, Korn and stuff was when it came out
I played this song so loud my neighbor's dog ran away, started it's own coup with some other dogs and then tried to set the neighbor's house on fire. It's a true story, but the judge wouldn't believe me either.

I know I'm late but the first time I heard this song was in 2020 and I thought it was a brand new song. Took me a while to find it. Then I learned it came out when I was 1 year old and I'm amazed. This song was way ahead of its time.
