I'm pretty certain there have only been 11 J-20 aircraft manufactured all in various states of readiness. They are still using the reverse-engineered engine from the SU-33, which requires afterburners to maintain high speed. The F35 and F22 have engines with supercruise so they maintain a stealthy signature even at speed.

There was also no previous combat experience of JF17 -Thunder Fighter Jets until they dropped two Indian Fighter Jets, MIG-20 and SUKOI SU-30.

We should never underestimate our enemy ,the j20 allowed itself to be detected by su 30 mki ,it cropped out its anteena from the fighter place which was picked up by su 30 radar

the j-20 is a paper tiger like all the other bullshit the chikoms put out. just like their "carriers" who are carriers in name only, with no active air operations. the TWO carriers are ramp boats that cannot launch and recover aircraft. these flying paper tigers are also bullshit: they're not stealth and have many flaws. the rafale, though, is a completely different story, and an excellent choice for india. as you mention, this is a battle tested plane, and fills many expectations that usa aircraft simply cannot, nor can russian aircraft: both were designed for a different purpose. the rafale was designed to serve a small nation state. equivalent usa and russian planes were not meant to do that. rafales are excellent multi role fighters. india made a great choice with this aircraft.

Ya J20 is really 5th gen fighter jet, so what , it has canard wings that are not used in any 5th gen, or that it has a 3.5gen aircraft engine, or that it can't supercruise , or it has no gun to compete in dog fight, or its design impedes its maneuverablity, PLAAF has painted it in stealth paint guys and that leaves no doubt it is 5th gen fighter jet no matter what anybody says.🙃

Chinese stealth technology is not so stealthy and the J-20 is not all that agile in comparison as well, engine issue mentioned, reliability of Chinese weapons systems or lack there of, then there is a BIG final reason and that is Indian pilots who are used to war games with pilots from the US, Australia, Japan, UK, France etc. you become the best by competing with and against the best, Chinese aircraft will be shot down in air to air combat rather quickly assuming they do not run.
