A lot of people don't realize guys like Karlovic and Isner are incredible hard to play against. Sure, you're going to win most rally's and service games, but you're going to get very little chances for a break, and these guys can sometimes out of nowhere hit a few great returns and ground strokes just to nick the set away. You could have played an incredible set, but their just gonna hit 10 aces and not give a shit about your winners until the tiebreak. And if your just a little too passive, their gonna get you
kalovic was so unique player. he ought to be remembered in the B4 era
Rafa is an insane competitor..the strength of mind he has is monster..the contrasting styles between these 2 is night and day..!
I love Federer genius display, Djokovic impossible defending, Nadal freak resilience and clay mastery, Wawrinka”s backhand, Thiem powerness, etc, but man.. Karlovic serving is just in another level of joy. Its just mesmerizing how helpless his opponent is.
12:46 probably best volley ever but a great response from Nadal as well
Break point: ace Deuce: ace Adv: ace
I think this is the closest Karlovic came to beating Nadal. Tense final set tiebreak.

I still think he won this one
I think Nadal was one of the closest players ever to bagel Karlovic. I think he only got bageled twice in his entire career.
Young Rafa was such a powerhouse and delight to watch 😍😍😍😍😍
what a match!
Dope match
Very entertaining
Woow Karlovic awsome terrifying Serves. Never see someone like that
I love this match because of Nadal’s celebration
nadal's serve looks different. much faster

You have to win tiebreaks against this guy
Rafa is 6'1" and he makes him look shorter than average.
Ivo Karlovic Ace 💣
imagine how annoying it was for Nadal
Shit if karlovic had a backhand he would have been easy top ten.
line judges are awful happy they got rid of them
Indian Wells is better than the Aus Open. Has been for years. It's the true modern 4th major.

Exactly. Aus Open is taking place when players are just warming up and preparing the season. Indian Wells tournament has a better infrastructure and technology than AO

@@alexandermatos6101well its just a good thing infrastructure and technology dont matter when it comes to being a grand slam. Its more about the spirit of the game Britain, France, Australia and America

@@Joe-rk9uy Australia is really dated when it comes to tennis. When wood died so did Australian tennis. Except for Lleyton, who is arguably the best technical player in history.

2 polar opposite tennis players. Nadal has the shittiest serve, Karlovic has the biggest serve. Karlovic strongly prefers the net, Nadal strongly prefers the baseline. Karlovic is tall and Nadal is a midget in comparison. Nadal moves really well, Karlovic moves relatively poorly. Nadal prefers long rallies, Karlovic prefers 2-3 shots.

Nadal's serve isn't shitty. It's just not Karlovic's serve.

@@michaelbarrett27 tbf, at this point in his career, Nadal's serve was clearly his weak point and below par compared to the rest of his game. The thing was he didn't need a great serve as he just needed to get into the rally with it. It only really started improving late 2010s
