What is important to me as an athlete about Rafa is how he makes me feel when I watch his games. He brought out the best fighting spirit with his true sportsmanship and passion to get better every game. I laughed and cried when I watched his matches, and I love his true humble nature. 👏💚 Thank you Rafa for the great work, you are the top champion.🏆

In all the years that he played, he gives it his best. It doesn’t matter if it’s a title he has to defend, he plays like it’s his first time being in that match. I’ve only had seen him in person once at the US Open a few years ago. But I’ve watched his matches, cheered for and with him, felt disappointed along with millions of fans. Like any other sport icon, when this chapter ends, it hurts but know that you’ve carved yourself a spot not only for tennis but for every aspiring athlete out there: to be tenacious, to believe, to have the grit! Gracias Rafa!

I was emotional but didn't understand a word of what was said. I guess you don't need to understand the Spanish language to feel it in your heart. Rafa, you reignited my love for the sport of tennis. It had been lost for over a decade, then you came along. We love you!

the best thing he ever said was in a game he was down 5-1 in the first set of the game. he pulled an epic come back and won the set. after the game he told the reporters do not remember me for winning the set but remember that when i was down 5-1 i didnt break my racket on the ground! Rafa you are and always will be an inspiration to everyone that wants to be a great MAN or WOMAN! and now go and win Roland Garros!
