Damn this looks like the best job. How hard is it to get to fast jet training? I can imagine it requires a lot of effort.

I'm a current air cadet wanting to become a pilot when I'm older, the only concern I have is air sickness. As far as I know I don't get airsick, but I have a phobia of vomit so I worry I would have trouble lol! How are you and the other pilots in that regard? Amazing video by the way

I have to ask, how strict is the medical assessment when you join up? And also can you start your application before sitting A-Levels? I'm sitting mine next year may and my logic is that if I start my application early, then perhaps I could get a slot earlier on.

What is the aptitude test made up of? What type of questions are shown and what is featured in ground school I’m mostly concerned about failing one of those two things
@martyn7888

D3RP TV google raf pilot aptitude tests and there’s loads of info on what they contain. Getting in is the tough bit. Once that’s done ground school is nothing to worry about unless you’re lazy. Most of the maths etc required for ground school will be tested during the aptitude tests so if you can pass them ground school is a doddle!

Would having a good degree make GCSE and A Level results irrelevant? Asking because I dont have the best GCSEs/A Levels but am studying towards a degree in engineering however.

Does anyone know what are The eyesight requirements for RAF/RN Fast jets? And what A-Level subjects would you recomend for me to do to get in? P.S I was pretty over weight until recently so can it make entry difficult ?

I think it’s 6/12 uncorrected in one eye and both corrected to 6/6 (that’s from memory though so don’t quote me). I’m sure you can find out all the medical stuff required by doing a bit more googling. I’d say you can’t go wrong with maths and physics - certainly makes ground schools easier further down the line and can help with the aptitude tests too. Having said that some guys in training haven’t done either!
