Action packed RAF Coningsby with Typhoons performing their regular duties plus a Typhoon practice display from ANARCHY1. If that wasn't enough a Chinook lands, a Red Arrows approaches along with some lovely little aircraft that carry out practice diversions. This was recorded on the 8th March 2022 but I have included some snippets from the 7th March 2022.
This was our first time to get close to Chinook and we were very excited about that. The "Wokka" (nickname for the Chinook) came from RAF Benson. It has a distinctive sound and I believe Ted was so fascinated by it, he wanted to ask the aircrew of RAF Benson or RAF Oddiham, if they'd give him a ride in the Wokka.
Also in the video, the sweetest sound of the T1 Hawk of a solo Red Arrow diverting and on a low approach over RAF Coningsby. This was an unexpected surprise. And what was with the Diamond DA42? He looked like he was having some fun over Coningsby. Enjoy the fun and action.

RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire is one of two RAF Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) Stations which protect UK airspace. RAF Lossiemouth, in Scotland, is the other. RAF Coningsby is home to two frontline, combat-ready squadrons (3 Fighter and XI Fighter squadrons) and is the training station for Typhoon pilots. Almost 3,000 Service Personnel, Civil Servants, contractors and 1 teddy bear (Ted Coningsby) work at RAF Coningsby.
KEY DATES
1941 - RAF Coningsby opened, serving as an RAF Bomber Command station until the early 1960s.
Coningsby has been a fighter station since the Phantom arrived in the late 1960s, followed by the Tornado and now the Typhoon.
1976 - Coningsby became home to the world-famous RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
HISTORY
RAF Coningsby was built just before World War Two and became the home of 617 Squadron, known as the Dambusters, during the second half of the war. Later, it was the base for the Vulcan bomber. It has also been home to Phantoms and Tornados too. Now, the Typhoons live here.

Live in Clacton not had the Clacton airshow for 2 years now but it returns this summer have the bbmf the blades aerobatic team red arrows and black jack coming to Clacton airshow this summer RAF Typhoon is amazing can't beat it very noisy bring on the noise

Canards work individually where as on the Typhoon they don’t 😎 Therefore they are actually called Foreplanes.🤙🏼🧸🇬🇧

@@TedConingsby I love the takeoff roll , because the foreplanes generate lift to rotate the nose UP for takeoff , instead of pushing the tail DOWN like a conventional aircraft , thats gotta be good right ? You don't want anything pushing down on take off ?? My channel is full of cool jet models !

Yes it is. It doesn’t always have it for a display by the way. Depends on location, I think the team call it clean if the drop tank is NOT used. 🧸🇬🇧
I think that the gull was with The Fleet Air Arm (sorry). Excellent video mix. I'll take a 'stab' at this 11 Sqn jet. Probably been having some maintenance in #2 hangar. Sometimes a bit of a mix there. Rolling towards that 1,000 nicely Ted. Whahahayyy! 👍🧸✈ 🇬🇧

Hi and welcome to our Aviation channel 🛩✈️ thank you very much for subscribing and of course liking the video. Best time would be to start at 0900. Any weekday I would say but possibly avoid Friday but you never know (half days usually on a Friday but do check the RAF Coningsby website for night flying as they don’t start until the late afternoon) 🤙🏼
Those pins are for Flares dude, only on armed jets and will be removed at the flare arming point where that dude is. It reduces the risk of a flare discharge on the pan.
