Neither can I, but Ty's even worse. Ty did absolutely nothing to deserve his ride in the 13. At least Austin won a title and performs relatively well compared to his brother. But to clarify, I don't like either of them and I don't care for Richard Childress either lol

Compression fracture. Same thing that happen to Denny Hamlin (at California after contact with Joey Logano) and to Tony Stewart (in his off road accident prior to the 2016 season) so 4 to 6 weeks out would be the educated guess.

Stick0413 Different spot on the back though. Denny and Tony had L1 fractures, Aric has T5. The L1 supports the upper body while the T5 is shoulder blade level. It's more of a pain related injury so I'd say it'll be a better recovery.

Seeing the helicopter fly off with Almirola broke my spirits that night. He's such a good guy and to see him crash like that... I certainly hope he has a speedy recovery.

If Danica is going out she needs to stop taking this from these dudes... Its getting ridiculous. If I couldve kicked Khanes cheekbone out of the back of his head when he wrecked her last year I wouldve been happy to oblige. Joey needs to get his adams apple put in place right and danica shouldve helped out. He couldve killed someone. She needs to start TCOB bc you sure arent getting a win

They said the impact with the 43 and 22 was so hard, all the springs came out of the rear when the 43 almost flipped over. When the car came back down and hit the ground it had one of the hardest G impacts in recorded nascar history. It's amazing he wasn't hurt worse than he was. This is probably the worst and hardest impact in NASCAR since the death of Dale Earnhardt. I hope they can do some research with the wreck and make the modifications needed to keep this kind of thing from happening again.

FOX Sports, whoever is producing these Radioactive segments deserves a raise, well done!

And now Aric gets his third cup series win at New Hampshire.

It's been a year and I still remember watching this crash in a mix of horror and shock.

I think you hear the respect the other driver's have for Danica. Outside of the race you get a lot of ego. The business side of the sport, the money, grudges all color the comments and discussions from one driver to the next. The severity of the accident stripped all the extraneous stuff away and gave true insight.

oh man ........ Aric I have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. He is a great family man and that was so terrible to hear him in pain on the radio... Please get well soon . This is so scary, it is why I love racing because the risk is real. But when it goes down it so hard to watch.

I basically screamed when Aric took that hard hit. I'm a former Danica fan (now a Joey fan since 2016) and I basically kept saying "get him out get him out please" and I prayed to God to keep Aric safe. Extremely unfortunate this happened but my dad always tells me and my brother that you're not always going to get through a race without a caution.

Seeing my favorite driver in a crash like that, sent chills down my spine

I’m surprised Aric was able to continue racing after that. Glad he was able to continue racing and get 2 more wins to his career maybe he’ll add another this year.

When aric says ahhh when he's in pain it makes me tear up I hate seeing or hearing drivers in pain

Watching this in 2022 just insane to see how far Nascar has came with all the safety features in the new cars

I hope Aric Almirola can recover to race. Given that something broke on Joey Logano's car to turn him into Danica Patrick's car, no one can be to blame for that wreck. As for Danica...how much rotten luck can one driver have?

I guess because he wasn't deeply in pain, so they thought they would include it. If he had a worse injury and his radio wasn't pleasant to listen to, for sure they wouldn't have used it.

I get it, but they had to...because it shows how bad it was...and it explains that while Aric Almirola could put the net down, he had to wait for the roof to be cut off his car to be helped out.

i was there, won hot passes with dibenedetto, they gave me a scanner for their team, and let us sit on the pit box, it was such a hard crash, i saw the cars after the wreck in the garage and they were torn up, i actually got part of the left c post from joeys car

Blaney's car was set up for the short runs. Notice how he could get away on restarts, but after like ten laps Truex would be reeling him in.

Mackie Mendoza that combined with all the other drivers radios just make Danica's post crash comments look worse. It's one thing if only Logano knew the severity of the situation then I can see why she would make those post crash comments, but no literally every driver knew it was bad and she still made it about her when there's a driver who's injured or potentially dead on the backstretch

What ever happened to the roof hatch? I though one of the main points of it was so workers didn't have to spend all that time physically cutting the roof open... is it not mandatory anymore or something?

Sorry for the late comment, but I guess they needed all the space possible to handle him. The roof hatch is there so that a driver can exit the car without help when the car is resting on its side.
