It's FPV lol crash and smash. he also gets the stuff you can't afford all day for free. maybe you should hold your DJI mini and rock your self to sleep and never fly it..

What a great review! I have mine in for a few days now. I love! One thing you missed: the gimbals are "facing inwards" slightly (eg: left gimbal is mounted higher left side and lower right side), which helps a great deal with stable throttle control !!!

Justin nice video. I got this radio for my birthday on the 21st , I need help getting an r9m module also present working on it.

That is a bad ass radio. I screwed up in getting the X9 Lite as my first radio. I like the Betafpv Lite 2 radio I have for D8, but this is my next radio that I'll use until it wears out.

While this radio is great, So is your X9 lite. It's literally equally as capable. Only difference is it doesn't have as many "hype" videos from youtube influencers.

@@JasonParham83 I got the radio and then Tinyhawks which are D8 and my radio doesn't do D8. I did manage to get the Tinyhawks to bind in D16 on the radio, but the range was limited and one of them just started falling out of the air until I got a BetaFPV Lite 2 radio. I've heard the TX16S has a built in multi protocol module where I had to buy one. It's not a bad radio, I just wat one that's more capable without add ons.

@@CarbonGlassMan the X9 lite was never meant to natively bind TO S8 devices. The FrSky website has it listed that to use D8, the intent is to use an external module. You have an awesome radio bro. Don't let hype and internet influencers make you spend more money than you need to. Add the new TBS multiprotocol module to your x-lite and call it a day.

Just picked one up. Had to. Money is tight but 🤷🏼‍♂️. Can’t wait. Been using a dx7s for the past few years.

I order one and it’s gonna take for ever to get wish RadioMaster sent me one for review 😱

Just ordered mine

I ordered the same radio but with black leather from banggood. What sold me was not only the gorgeous looks but the display is in a class of it's own. I don't have the best reading eyes and need to wear readers so this display will be so much clearer for me. I can't see how I'm going to go wrong with this. And it has all the same switches as my QX7 and then some. Only downside is I'm sacrificing the Access protocol for Frsky. Hopefully someday someone will find a way to add a chipset that includes Access. But for now the ACCST protocol will do fine. More range than I will ever need.

What is up my man? nice review. I contacted you 6-7 mths ago about the Ix12 and after contact I purchased the it, added Crossfire and now this radio Radiomaster. I began to wonder was $666 for the Ix12 worth it? I had FrSky 9xd plus SE and sold all my FrSky stuff. Should I sell the Ix12 also and go Radiomaster, and does Radiomaster come already programmed with Crossfire, or should I just stay Spektrum? Keep’em coming your very informative

This old brain is trying to get my quad "Inductrux" into the 16s without any luck. I found a printout of the quad Horizon Hobby BLH8516 FPV pro manual. Every time a set it up something does not work. Each time is something else.... How do you see it being done? Thanks for any help. Continued success.I have it bound, armed, 1 flight mode. It still way far from where it should when properly setup in the radio. It flys, some control, no hover or change in flight modes. Looking forward to hearing from you and your instruction.

By any chance do you know what the zlrc sg 906 pro2 protocol is if this radiomaster will work

How much memory does the radio have for active models? For example, my Taranis says 60 models but this is dependent on the file size of each model. Most of my glider models are 1800 kb vs. a quad which is 450 kb, so after adding 10 gliders and 15 quads there's no more memory available for additional models.

So I ordered the silver version, waiting for it to be shipped, I got 18650 3000mah batteries for it, do i need to get a separate charger for those batteries or does the TX come with a power cable to recharge the batteries?

How is the quality of the turning pots and the sliders on the side?

Will this work with a archer frysky? Access protocol?

which is better, this or the Radio King TX18S?

From my understanding yes. The dji goggles connect with the camera not the flight controller. The radio connects to the flight controller.

Hey Justin awesome video and explanation. I just ordered one from RDQ but I didn’t want to wait 3 weeks for the red one on your video so I got the gold. Is it possible to add a new faceplate and change up the switch hardware to different colors, as that is what I’d like to do eventually. Thanks.

I’m getting a jumper t8sg plus v2 could u please let me know I’m having trouble finding out will it work and bind to the tinyhawk 2 and tinyhawk 2 freestyle because someone just told me it won’t work for d8 protocol but all the research I’ve done I was led to believe it will work for d8, all I need to know is will it bind and fly the 2 drones I’ve mentioned, would appreciate a fast reply please guys as it’s just about to be ordered so I get it for Christmas with my iflight nazgul5 v2 6s. @@antxchannel definitely better than my old qx7 with hall sensor gimbals and a couple more upgrades. I really need to upgrade soon. But Even at 3 years old now it’s still working for me tho I know there’s much better radios and ones that may fit my hands better.

@@dronecamps when I’m able to get back to consistently flying I think I may have an accident with my qx7 lol. Haven’t really flown in over 3-4 months now and not due to covid. Life for me has been insane lately but thank God it hasn’t been a Jerry springer episode like it was in 2005 lol. Yeah my 04-08 was crazy but this time it’s not that bad but still bad enough but finally getting better. Long story but like Botgrinder a few months ago loosing his little cousin I lost mine at the time the same way. My cousin loved Fpv and I introduced him to it and helped him build his first 4 quads. He had some mental things going on but was extremely smart and at 16 was already taking college classes and had a really bright future ahead. But I guess the stress got to him when this covid bs happened and no one around him saw the signs and unfortunately I wasn’t there for him and that’s what’s killed me the last few months. Loved that kid just as I do my own kids. But I have gotten a lot better and have tried to get back to fpv the last 2 weeks and now I think my quads are mad at me bc my race rigs don’t want to fly right and they were perfect before all of this. Tho it could also be the radio causing the weird yaw spins and I know the radio has been dropped a few times lately. Hopefully this afternoon I will have time to get out and test them again and adjust my gimbals and see. Weird part tho is my main freestyle rig, my flightone dolphin1 still flys correctly, maybe a tiny bobble here and there but nothing like what my racers do. And a few weeks ago I got to get my falcox gtb339 out and rip a few packs and it flew perfect for 5 packs, the 6th tho I barely clipped a branch and smoked a motor and or killed an esc. Lol. Oh well I have tons of parts laying around to play with and an extra gimbal somewhere so I’ll get it all figured out soon.

The great therapy of outdoor flying will help the mend🙏🌈 In my prayers.🙏 I studied your review of the PL18 and wanted it in a great way BUT now you’ve (along with most other reviewers) confused that “want & need” for it by the Range Master Tx16S Max. Must decide between the nice “bling” of the MAX and the Masterfire. You mentioned Crossfire FS. Should I get the MAX and then later the full size version of the CF? I want to do fixed wing long range fpv (about 10km out to patrol my farm) Kind regards from Wolkberg, South Africa🌈

What about the New Spektrum NX radios!? 😃 They look Awesome so many new features, WiFi, better gimbals, folding aerial antenna, telemetry and loads more features and a designated channel for SAFE 😀

My buddy has one and I really like the feel, I fly the X9D+SE, and I have to say the ergonomics are better on the X9D. Plus battery life is better.

KAREKIN FPV Thanks for the comment. While the screen looks like a winner, I fly fixed wing with a n X9D plus SE which has some great sliders for auxiliary controls like flaps. Is this a shortcoming of the Radiomaster controls?

My Fimi s8 XE over heats my phone. Would this radio be a good alternative?

Unrelated: just wanted to thank you for a piece of advice you gave it may seem insignificant: when lose reception in goggles you said to “pull up”, the instinct is to hit the dirt. But with a bit of height visuals come back Thank you

Hi i just got this radio, and when callibrating and sliding the right slider all the way to the top on screen i only see it going a bit above half of the center, the left slider reaches the top. Do u know a fix and if its software or hardware? When sliding it smoothly goes from the bottom till lets say 54% without a dead zone so i think its a bug or setting, anyone got a clue?

It can, BUT pay attention to the details of which protocols are support and which are not! For example Frsky ACCST is supported, but ACCESS is not! Or Futaba S-FHSS is supported, but the other Futaba protocols are not! Spektrum DSM2 and DSMX are both supported. Graupner HOTT send to be fully supported as well, but not sure on this one as I'm not using HOTT. But every protocol which is supported works out of the box without any additional accessories!

Hi Justin, I have a doubt I am using spektrum DX6 radio and I have about 30 Spektrum receivers, I fly large airplanes and helicopters and I want a radio with more channels, bigger. I am thinking of FLYSKY PALADIN PL18 or Radio Master TX16S. I was thinking of buying a Spektrum IX12 but I think it would be a waste of money because these radios give all the features of the IX12 (and a bit more) at a better price. FrSky I have read bad comments ... Thanks for your video ..

I prefer my Futaba 16SZH. Already touch screen(Which I want), The FASSTest protocol(IMHO the best), Great display screen and menu, Can add aftermarket module like the TBM crossfire and the Futaba name and quality. I'd grab this Radiomaster 16S max as a second radio/backup BUT of all the protocols it supports, it does not work with Futaba T-FHSS and FASSTest. The ones I use with telemetry! Oh well😕

Just got mine today, and it seems pretty good. However I’m extremely disappointed that windows isn’t recognising it, so I can’t use it on the sims. I’ve done everything I could but the new windows updated are ruining it. Glad everyone else is out enjoying their radio

dude its not more than 1 month i got the dji goggles + radiomaster etc....all work perfect ..the only problem is that videos on air unit not recorded..all saved as currupted files and non repairable at all ..i tried disable auto record on take off and i press the button each time and again i have the problem losing almost all videos...is there any solution to this?

I'm an old JR/FUTABA/Spektrum guy but the frsky x-lite style is just great for my short thumbs. I never use my old TXs any more. But the features of these new multiprotocol's might make me go back to that style.

Im only 4 minutes in but already you've said something wrong, I have thw cheaper version which does not have the hall sensor gimbals but it is still 4 in 1 multi protocol its the radiomaster tx 8 or whatever its call that is smaller and doesn't have the 4 in 1
