The communication incubator strategy in Colombia empowered migrants to actively shape their local information landscapes, address information barriers, combat disinformation, and foster social cohesion through community networks. Through these initiatives, 176 participants acquired media literacy skills and produced relevant content, aligning with the recommendations provided in Internews' Information Ecosystem Assessments, which were conducted under the Conectando Caminos por los Derechos program funded by USAID.
Initially content production under the strategy focused on traditional community radio, however, participants emphasized the importance of being able to generate content in formats that were not geographically limited and could be replicated in multiple platforms.
