Radical Changes At Mercedes After Secret Weapon Fails!
It seems Mercedes have fallen into a repeating cycle week after week and they just cannot escape. The opening races of the season from round 1 in Bahrain to round 5 in China have been a real case of 2 steps forwards, 2 steps back. The team, and especially its principle, keep promising over and over again that the pace is there, everything points to them being fast and something unconceived is holding them back, with the first 2 races being cases of “oh just wait until next time” and the recent rounds being “we’re working to figure it out”. Well after China the tone has seemed to shift slightly, and it’s taken some time to digest just what the future holds for Mercedes, and more importantly, if their promises of performance can even be believed. Not only that, but the attitude of the Brackley team has soured an old rival's mood, causing them to lash out at Mercedes. At the end of the day, maybe the best thing would be for Mercedes to keep their mouths shut until they can bring a competitive racing car, but it doesn't seem that is going to happen any time soon.

Niki Lauda's impact was so underrated at MB because he understood the entire equation and gave the team and the corporation the perspective to focus on one line of sight, which lasted well after his departure from this world. God rest his soul. THAT is what made MB the powerhouse it became. And yes, they had great elements, as they do today, but without harmonious focus, it don't matter. They must acknowledge that they do not have that one person in place with whom the board of directors is confident that he is looking after the corporate interests, that one person looking after the technical interests, and that one person overlooking the team operations. And keeping all of them in line with a singular focus. Just as Jo Ramirez held McLaren together in spite of Prost v Senna, or the Murray v Barnard v Nichols design wars, in spite of the hubris continually displayed by Ron Dennis who relished "management by conflict," McLaren would never attained the lofty status they enjoyed for so long. Right now they are a very well funded and solid ship adrift without a rudder. An insignificantly small component to the vessel that ultimately decides where it will land...

Any one involved in the "Zero Side Pod" decision needs to question every bit of software and every line of data code they have ever produced. Somewhere deep in the bowels of the design systems are flaws. Something in the modeling software and the wind tunnel data collection system is producing garbage. Almost like someone forgot to tell the software the car is running in an air environment and not under water. I fully expected Toto to come out and say...The software thought we were designing a boat hull....Clicked the wrong button....Should be better now!

Toto is the issue here at Merc. Also Horner is a major problem too..he is the catalyst that is taking red bull down, the chips are falling.

Its not the car, the technical director, or the drivers. Mercedes domination for all those years is bad news for Liberty media. The tournament HAS to create ultimate views, in order to remain viable. For Mercedes to drop as radically as they have, having mastered immense engineering based on years and years of refinement is a little too much to take seriously. More peculiar is Sir Lewis race pace, results and performance. How is it that Russell consistently achieves better results than Hamilton? Driver age has been recently been shown especially by Alonso to be almost unimportant. Lewis did not achieve his championships by chance. He still has it, and maybe he experienced huge disillusionment at Abu Dhabi 2021 and cannot forget it, but his ability cant seriously be questioned. Owners like Liberty media HAVE to guarantee a competitive tournament. That means Mercedes cannot continue to dominate for the sake of the sports marketability. Furthermore, if Lewis won his 8th World Drivers title at Abu dhabi, what would THAT have meant for the tradition of F1? Schumacher the greatest no more. It is a serious consideration. Too many wierd decisions and events call the credibility of the sport into question for me. Apparently F1 is well known before all other sports to be associated with outside influence. Foul play is not so outlandish to consider when one considers who sits on top of all teams, F1 ownership, FIA, politics and the most important factor, money. I know I will get a barrage of hateful speech from others saying sour grapes but I have seen so much of this type of influence in Soccer, Rugby and cricket. Betting syndicates also exert real influence over results. Max is catching Sir Lewis records very rapidly, just like that. Whoever is in control they could have made it a little more subtle. The show must go on. Miami here we come.

Toto is the one creating division at Mercedes! Russell and Hamilton are just trying to stay positive and drive. Toto has been forcing Lewis to test, test, test to help the tech team and engineers, but they need to fix their testing systems! 😡😡😡

When Lewis walked away from Mclaren in 2012, many of us, including myself, were left scratching our heads wondering why on earth he would leave the team which had nurtured him throughout his career & given him the machinery to win races & a championship. Shortly after he left, Mclaren went into a tailspin from which they've only recently recovered some twelve years later. Lewis noted the shifting dynamic within Mclaren and subsequently abandoned ship for Mercedes before he was dragged down with the team. Love him or loathe him, Hamilton is unarguably astute when it comes to managing his career path within F1. I believe he noted that things were far from healthy at Mercedes F1 quite some time ago, hence his choice to move to Ferrari. The lyrics to a certain song by Propellerheads & Shirley Bassey come to mind... "They say the next big thing is here, That the revolution's near, But to me it seems quite clear That it's all just a little bit of history repeating."
