Radiator leak repair using JB water weld

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This vlog is about fixing my Jeep Liberty Radiator Leak. The Leak is coming from the plastic part of the radiator. I use JB water weld that I bought at Canadian tire. JB weld have different types of product like for extreme heat, for steel, for plastic. Jb water weld works on, fiberglass, PVC plastic, copper, brass, iron and aluminum and can resist water, oil, gas, diesel, hydraulic fluids and other chemicals with the strength of 900PSI and can withstand 300°F. My initial try failed but after my 2nd try and pressing JB weld hard to penetrate the crack of the plastic then let it cure for 24 hours worked. This is actually done last year and no problem with the leak even after 10,000km run.

My ladyfriend got a leak between the top plastic tank and the crimp that holds the top onto the coils. I’ve swapped out many radiators, so like a dumbass I volunteered to change hers. Little did I know that on a ‘05 Mazda 6S (3.0L V6) the WHOLE FRONT END OF THE CAR NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO GET THE RADIATOR OUT! Going to try the Water Weld today because @&#% that! Will update.

Is JB much stronger than metal epoxy adhesive, which is a mixture of two adhesives (hardeners)?

  • @GePete

im not sure with metal epoxy adhesive cause i did not try it yet. I used water weld because of liquid/coolant in the radiator.

It dried up after hour but when i started to check. It still leaked. Maybe it dry outside but inside, it was contaminted with coolant. So i darined the coolant then reapply, you will see the failure with 1hour and the good result of 24 hour curing if you watch the whole video.
